Meep! Sorry everyone, I've been having computer and internet issues the last few weeks. I didn't forget about this place, I swear!

I'll write up an intro tomorrow morning. Thank you ladies for the warm reception!

My BFP story isn't all that entertaining. We "accidently on purpose" tried for a couple of months - it took awhile to admit to each other that we wanted our second a little sooner than we'd previously discussed. We had planned on trying when our son was around a year. We did briefly get a BFP that would've been due in late Nov/early Dec, only to start bleeding the next day - I was prepared for it as I got the positive on day 52 of my cycle, which seemed very late and very.... off, I guess. I couldn't count how many tests I had gone through that cycle.

As luck would have it, 3 weeks later we had a family trip across the country for a week to see DH's extended family - needless to say, it was the first time we were together during Patrick's naps since DH went back to work (days off aside), and things happen. Coincidentally I chose that cycle to start using OPKs to get a better sense of when things would roughly become normal - I ovulated while we were on vacation. And obviously it stuck around. I got my faint BFP on May 20th, only to start bleeding on the 23rd - I had to know if that was a miscarriage, because the previous cycle has been a "was it real" ever since, so I went to the ER and had blood drawn. The second blood draw put me at a doubling rate of 36 hours.

    I was in fact, pregnant.

This pregnancy hasn't been completely uneventful, but it has been a lot smoother than my pregnancy with Patrick. With him I was working until I was put on bedrest at 20 weeks for PTL, which I was on and off again for the remainder of that pregnancy. And yet I ended up going overdue and induced at 41+3 (though I was contracting every 5-6 minutes already on my own), and had him at 41+5.

This time around I did have a brief sprint of PTL at 21 weeks (unknown cause), and again at 24 weeks (dehydration), but because of my previous history (making it to overdue) I didn't have to stay on bedrest, just take it easy - something I've been ever grateful for.

We know this is another boy, and will be our last - sad but knowing my pregnancies and my own body we know its the right choice for us. We've decided on Daniel Blair for his name, Blair for DH's grandfather, a man who sadly has brain damage from a previous heart surgery (oxygen dep. when he crashed) and alzheimers so while I've only known him a little while - and a fraction of who he used to be - he has made such an impression in both of our lives.

DH and I met when we were both teens (he was 15, I was 14), sadly we met online at a message board for a sci-fi show. We didn't really talk much to each other until he had a fit of moodiness (strange for a teen, no? LOL) and said he was "leaving and if anybody cared they could message him at ___ email." I can't say what made me look him up, but that night we talked for 3 hours, and talked every single day since then. We started "dating" on Feb 16th, 2001 - we were "engaged to be engaged" (yeah, I don't know either ) around June/July, and then September 16th he "officially" proposed - 5 days after my birthday which put us both at a whopping 16 years old.

I can't explain how amusing it is to see your entire name TYPED out in a proposal. I giggled - and scared the crap out of James - for a good two minutes before I typed out his name with a yes I will. We hadn't even met face to face yet, but we were engaged.

And that was definitely tested as in 2002/2003 my previous nerve damage (neck/back/shoulder/arm - trampoline accident) put me on medication that made me sleep about 22-23 hours a day to deal with the pain I was in. He called me every day to make sure I remembered to eat - even with that I still dropped from a size 16 to a 7-8 in the near year I was on those meds. He helped me research and get into physical therapy. I spent 9 months gaining my body back, but even now I have bad days and an excersize routine I have to follow to keep from losing the control I have.

He came down in 2004 - I should explain that he lived in Alberta, Canada, while I lived in Arizona, so it was definitely a long distance relationship. He came down again in 2005 and that was to pick me, my three kitties, and all my stuff up and bring it back with him. We've been here since then, as his parents were gracious enough to buy our condo and we pay for it (fees, taxes, etc) until we can get the money to buy it out entirely from them.

Post more later, must run errands....
