There are certain points on the body that can send you into labor if rubbed just the right way. This is why you need someone certified in pregnancy massage when you get a massage, because you don't want to have preterm labor as a result of a good massage...it can happen! BUT an induction massage is pretty much the opposite. They know what points to hit and how to rub just right to get contractions going. It doesn't work for everyone, maybe not even for most, but at least it feels good whether it works or not right?

Anyway...today I called my MW and did a little switcheroo...was supposed to have my appt. tomorrow but DH stayed home today and I wanted him to come with me so we went today instead. Nothing new, nothing to talk about really. She says the head is down low but that doesn't really mean much to me yet. Everyone is still saying she will be here late (now just watch her pop out early after I've been telling everyone she's gonna be late!). Oh they did have us fill out a form concerning what will be on the birth certificate!

After the appointment we went to babies r us, I had a 20% off coupon and today was the last day I could use it, so I wanted to order a glider. The one we had picked out was like...$479 but it was the only one we liked. Well today we went in and we found one that was better for only $199!!! They discontinued it, so it was priced to sell but originally I think it was like $350. STILL cheaper than the dutailier we picked out. We went ahead and ordered it, and good thing we got that one because they wouldn't take the 20% off coupon since it's a "special order". It was ok though since the price was so much cheaper. It should be here in the next week or 2. Then tonight I added up everything left on my registry that I want/need, and it's only gonna be about $250 of stuff. I still need an extra carseat base, breastpump (getting a manual), bottles, safety/health kit, pack n play sheet, thermometer, and this cute keepsake chest. I can't believe that I am going to not need anything for a while after that! Then I'm going to start ordering more cloth diapers! woohoo!

OK sorry long post but this place has become like my blog. I can't write stuff like this on my blog because no one else cares...I know some of you understand though and will actually read it

    Love you all!!!

for a sweet deal on a glider!!! I found mine at a yard sale for $50 (mind you, I didnt use it much, being a plus size woman, my butt didnt fit the super comfy chair )

You are super organized, thats awesome. I would love to see your little one come early and prove everyone wrong! Enjoy your massage, you so deserve it!

I've heard that acupressure can sometimes help induce! Specifically, I've heard of using finger pressure, in on-off cycles of 10-60 seconds each for up to 6 cycles on either Hoku (the bony point at the "V" of the fleshy notch on the back of the hand between base of thumb and forefinger) or Spleen 6 (on lower leg, 4 finger breadths above one or both inner ankle bones). Maybe I'll try this on myself

Oh yay for getting a good deal on the glider! I love love love mine, I used it ALL the time probably at least 6 feedings a day in the beginning. Did you get an ottoman with it too? If not I would recommend even just picking up a regular footstool to have. As for the rest of your list, sounds like you've got everything covered!!

we tried ordering the ottoman at the store, but they said they no longer had it...well I came home and went to BRU.com and they still had it in stock, priced at half off! So I just ordered it online. Seriously I am so happy we saved all that money...the whole shebang cost us $250, and this is for an XL sized reclining glider...can't top that!! The other one with the ottoman would have cost $670!! The main reason we even were considering the expensive one was because it is XL and DH and I's butts didn't have much room in the other ones, but this one is too!

OK sorry I am wayyy too excited about that haha.

I've heard about the pressure points, I think that might be what they focus on in the induction massage but I'm not too sure. If I get to have one I will definitely report back and explain exactly what they do!

How very cool that you got such a great deal on your rocker! I can't wait till I'm actually far enough along to get a prenatal massage. They have a room at the midwifery just for massage, and I intend to spend some time there So are you and DH going out to dinner or anything fun since he took the day off? Peyton is going to be here so soon and you won't know what you did with all your free time!
