Just wanted to send you a big (((HUG))) I'm praying for you that all is well. Try not to be too hard on yourself for going, your DH should be considerate of your needs and understand that you did what was best for you and baby. I can imagaine that it was a good choice not to stay in a HOT house with people that drive you crazy. You'll be home in no time, and everything happens for a reason. Take care of you self hun.

How stressful! I can't even imagine what you went through...
I bet the contrax probably had a lot to do with that stress. Try to relax and I hope you can get home soon. I don't blame you for going to Dallas. There's no way you could have stayed in the heat and with the stress of not only guests, but guests that drive you nuts.

thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!! It looks like my house made it out ok!
amazingly my house did not lose power!!! I am so shocked but it seems like we got the very edge of the storm! Kind of a bummer because we still have no a/c...and who knows when it will be fixed, but at least we have electricity! We did get some structural damage but not too bad...since we are renting I don't think we have to cover anything, I am just hoping the realtors that we lease from do not drag their feet on repairs! We lost a few small trees, some shingles in the front and a screen on the windows, so we got out pretty unscathed. My parents' house was boarded up but the boards flew off the windows, and their fence blew down and they have flooding, so they are in much worse shape. The eye went right over their house, but thankfully they are here with me and just found that out from neighbors and not from riding it out! They are in the pasadena/laporte/clear lake area, if any of you have been watching the news they have been showing it a lot. I'm thinking about buying a window unit up here in dallas and taking it home with me lol. I am just so thankful for still being able to be in touch with DH, I was worried we would lose touch because of cell phone towers being down or something. Thanks to all who were praying for us!

I'm so glad your doing well, and that your house is fine. How's your car? I'm sorry your parents aren't as lucky and I hope they get things fixed up very soon. I'm guessing no more labor signs? Hang in there and take care!

I'd get the A/C while there. I bet the prices are probably down anyway due to all the power outages!

Glad to hear that you guys came out pretty well and I'm sorry your parents' house isn't doing quite as well. How's the car? Will you be able to go home soon?

Oops I guess I forgot to mention about my car! Yesterday at about 4pm (before winds started to really pick up)my DH and his mom went to go get my car, I was so nervous because the eye was predicted to go RIGHT over where it was sitting. So my car was at home safe in the garage thank God!!!!

I am disappointed in my inlaws, I've been watching their daughter for 2 weeks and all I asked was that they keep my house clean while they were there because I am exhausted from playing mommy and being pregnant...apparently they TRASHED my house and won't stop complaining because they are hot and out of cigarettes. Well at least they have a roof over their heads, without us they would have been stranded down there in Freeport! I told DH that as soon as they lift the curfew he needs to take them back, whether they have power or not because they are driving him crazy. Hopefully DH's boss will give him his paycheck tomorrow, if so he will come up here for a couple days to decompress and relax in the AC and then we will go back together. I feel so bad for him, I know what dealing with his family is like and he has done more than enough to help them!

Your inlaws sound like ingrates (pardon my wording, very ungrateful people!!!) Hope they lift the curfew and your dh drops them off really soon. Sorry to hear the house is trashed.

God, I'd kick them out if I were you!

Not only do they sound completely disrespectful towards you, your DH and your home, they seem to be completely oblivious to how much they've put you out recently and how much you've done for them. Are they smoking in the house? Do you allow that? What about the baby stuff - it'll stink of smoke if they've been in there smoking! (Unless you or DH smoke I think it's really bad that they're smoking in your home - it'll take weeks to get the smell out!)...

    ((((( HUGS )))))

I have family members like this - you can bend over backwards for them and they'll never thank you and just expect more and more. Chuck them out whilst it's still an option!

    Love,

    Sarah-Jean
