Well it's better than "closed up like a drum", which is what they told me 2 weeks ago, I'm a fingertip dilated.
It's not much, but just knowing that my body is doing SOMETHING is enough to keep me going. I know it can all change in an instant, but it still is hard when it feels like nothing is happening.
Thanks for the link.
I also feel better after my appointment because I was worried they would really try to pressure me into an induction right at 41 weeks. After talking to the doc, I'll go in next week, if needed. They'll check everything, schedule a biophysical for the following day. If all is healthy, they'll recommend an induction within 2-3 days, however if I choose to wait til 42 weeks, while they don't recommend it, they will honor my decision. If things were looking iffy with fluid levels etc at the biophysical, I'll submit to the induction. I told the doc I'd really like to avoid pitocin, and he said that is their goal as well.
Well, I might be starting something, not sure if it really is it or not, but it's a possibility. Since about 5:30 I've been having what I think are contractions, at first they weren't painful, but pretty regular, a little over 10 minutes apart. DH got home (I didn't tell him yet) and we went to go eat, they slowed a bit while I was eating and after, but since then I've been relaxing a bit to see if they would stay slowed down, I've started having some that hurt. The last hour or so they've been about 13 minutes apart. Although my last one was about 9 minutes.
I finally told DH about 2 contractions ago. I didn't want to get his hopes up, or get excited for nothing, but I'm starting to think that I might have a baby tomorrow. I'll probably try and lay down and see if I can sleep in a few minutes, and let DH sleep/nap. I'll have to decide when to call our doula.
My baby Bronwyn Rosalie was born last night at 10:59 pm. She weighs 7lbs 6oz. 20.5 in long. Champ nurser already. I'll post a pic later. <3
