Well, still nothing. Had a bit of the plug yesterday, but nothing other than that. I went walking w/ my sister for an hour and a half in the mall since it was raining. It was nice to spend time with her before she has to leave today, but I only got maybe 8 braxton hicks the entire time.
She leaves this afternoon - so she won't be meeting this baby until she comes back for another visit on her way to a conference in June.
I'm dreading a bit the u/s & NST tomorrow, though I feel like I need to go for my own peace of mind. My mom kept all of her 3 kids post-date and though we all turned out fine, there were issues w/ 2 of us. My sister's placenta had stopped functioning and she was losing weight, I had the cord around my neck 3 times and since my mom had already started pushing - and the cord was not long enough for me to be born, but my head was partially out - and every time she did push my heart rate would go down to the 40's... they had to cut her open from the outside and reach up in there and cut the cord.... not what I want obviously. I know that the u/s and NST won't necessarily show if there are those kinds of issues, but I have not been having hardly any BH's lately- even though I've had them fairly regularly for months. Yesterday I had maybe 20 all day.
I just can't wait to meet this baby and am disappointed that it didn't arrive while my sister was here. And now I have to hear more and more about induction procedures at every appt. from now on.
I talked to my mom on the phone last night and it was nice. She's very excited about this baby too and reminded me that I should not complain because I am very lucky to not be having false labor all the time, or back pain, or swelling etc. She's right. It does make me glad that I can still play with my DD and not have to think about it.
Jodi, I'm sorry your sister had to leave before baby was born. You could safely go another week, so no need to worry yet (easy for me to say sitting here with 2 mos left to go). I'd be worrying too about the NST. You still have a lot of natural induction methods to try as well. Do you have an acupuncturist in the area? I've also heard that a glass or two of wine can help (not sure how, but it sounds nice).
Today (or tomorrow) will be the day. I went in to my NST and my U/S and baby is doing fine right now, but my fluid levels are way low, so they want me to come in tonight to be induced
But I made a deal w/ the MW that she could strip my membranes and I would drink castor oil to try to get things going and come in to the hospital tonight around 8. Then they will give me a cervadil if needed and check me again in the morning. If nothing happens by morning they are going to want to start pitocin - so wish me luck that the home remedies help because I'd rather avoid ALL of the hospital drugs if I can.
I just ate some lunch, and after that soaks in, I'll be downing a castor oil/rootbeer float. In the meantime I'm going to take Rosie out on a walk and out for lunch in the yard while Andy gets in a nap. Then after I down my shake, he'll take her so I can take a nap while the oil soaks in.
So wish me luck, and if you don't hear from me in a few days, you know where I am.
Sorry about being induced. I hope things get started on their own for you! The day before i went into labor i had maybe a dozen contractions all day long, when for about 4 weeks straight before that i was having between 6-12 on hour.

OH no about the low levels!!! Do you know how low? Can you get them to take another measurement before the induction- drink tons and tons and tons. I know quite a few midwives who swear it's possible to bring levels back up again- or for remeasuring to show a different story (apparently such measurements depend a lot on the baby's position and the mom's hydration.)
