Congratulations!! I'm so happy to hear you were able to have the baby without the cervadil and that it seemed to go so smoothly! Happy babymoon to you!
Congrats! Sounds like a great birth!

So everything is going well. It's just been kinda stressful lately. My MIL was here last week and she was really uptight about everything. She would scream at DD when she would get dirty, play in the sink, sit on my bed, everything was a huge reaction.
My mom is here now and is much more laid back. That part is nice, but the night after my mom got here, DD woke up at 2am and came in our room (which she never does) and then she puked. So DH held her for a couple hours and she went back to sleep, but had a fever all night and the next day, and so we went to take her into the urgent care clinic because she said her ears hurt. Well, of the 2 that are close to our house, one was closed early for the day, and the other wouldn't see her because she's not a regular patient of their "system". So we went home and looked up online for the other location of the other urgent care that was still open - and they listed their address online and the current wait times. So we drove the 25 minutes over there w/ both kids in the car. We get there and the building is closed, though it was supposed to be open for another couple hours. We started driving to the ER, and DD puked in the car. So I ended up dropping DH and DD off at the ER. My mom drove over there and picked them up while I nursed Blaise.
That was Saturday, and she is still really crabby even after 3 days on antibiotics - and now is coughing some. She has an ear infection, but the meds don't seem to be helping much. I am taking her in to the dr. on Thursday for a re-check. She woke up SCREAMING 5-6 times a night since Friday night - and DH has been sleeping on the trundle mattress on her bedroom floor. I can't wait for her to feel better. We are both so tired.
Blaise is finally getting the hang of nursing, so I am able to use the nipple shield less and less. He still bites sometimes and gets off the nipple a lot during his feedings. So lots of extra latching - makes me quite sore. He also gulps a lot of air in the process, so he's gassy and cries often after feedings if he doesn't fall asleep. Oh and MAN is he STRONG! He holds his head up really well and kicks and wiggles and if you lay him on his back he rolls on to his sides. It's crazy.
The great news though is that I've almost completely stopped bleeding. With DD it took 3 weeks. I really had nothing for the last 2 days at all - except for one little gush and that's it.
Oh man, what a difficult week. Hope the dr appt for your dd goes well today and that she starts feeling better soon. poor thing. all of you. That extra latching can be tough, huh. I noticed one of mine bit me MORE when I used the shield. Hang in there. You are doing great!
I need to vent - Just a bit anyway.
Blaise is going through his first growth spurt, plus he REALLY has decided that he must suck to fall asleep - so even after he's had his fill, he wants to nurse just to have a "pacifier" to suck on to fall asleep - BUT he gets so mad when he gets milk at that point - because he's already full. He will just scream and scream. So then he stops sucking and just holds it in his mouth and keeps trying to chew on it. Of course that hurts a bit, and when I don't let him nurse to sleep, he gets even more mad and screams until he gets the boob back. So needless to say he didn't nap well today. I know it's not great to give him a real pacifier this early - but I couldn't handle it - so I tried giving him the 2 different kinds I had saved up for him for later - he wouldn't have anything to do with either.
So that AND my DD decided that she's done being nice about the new baby. As soon as I FINALLY got him to go to sleep and put him in his bed, DD and I ate a snack together, and played a game, then I went into the kitchen to get a drink of water, and she runs into my room and wakes up Blaise. He wouldn't go back to sleep for another hour and a half - by which point he was just screaming out of sheer exhaustion.
AND DH has now come down with body aches, a fever etc., so he manged to get up enough strength at that point to take her on a walk in the yard so I could get Blaise to sleep - which he did, and then DH came back in w/ DD and he laid comatosed in his lazy-boy while I cooked dinner.
I gave both kids a bath - semi at the same time, and put DD to bed while Blaise slept in his bouncy seat. He had his first real bath tonight, and HATED it, so screamed and nursed himself back to sleep. I'm tired and have told DH that he's sleeping on the sofa - because if Blaise or I get sick, I'm going to be so screwed.
On the upside - DD is finally getting better and is over her ear infection. She had her follow-up visit at the pediatrician yesterday, and they said she is better. And she only woke twice last night - so that was really nice. At least I didn't have her waking 5 times and Blaise waking 3 times!
