Wow girly, you really can do it all! I'm so impressed that you can do so much being so prego I hope your pain is less in these last few days, and that this baby doesn't keep you waiting much longer. How are Jordan and Jasmine doing with everything?
Poor Jordan and Jasmine. They are doing pretty well considering all of the changes we are going through. But they have their moments. Jasmine has been potty trained since 22 months and lately she has been having a lot of accidents. She probably just doesn't know how to express herself during this confusing time for her. I feel bad and have tried to be patient.
Jordan is 5, but he has been doing baby talk all the time, becoming more clingy, and also acting up more...but I know that this is because of everything going on.
I just hope that once we move into our permanent home and get settled in and things go back to a normal routine and schedule, that they will be able to handle things and do better.
We are trying to be patient and understanding, but it can be tough sometimes. When the baby comes, it will be just one more thing added to the kids already crazy lives...so I hope they accept her okay and don't end up resenting her or acting up even more. I am going to try to give them as much love and attention as I can so that they feel secure with DH and I at least, even though everything else is uncertain right now.
On another note, we were able to go to the house we are buying tonight and talk to the current owners. They were so nice and answered all of our questions about their home, the neighborhood/neighbors, etc. We feel so good about it all and this just sealed the deal for us. I am so happy that we are buying that house! We also asked them if they would be able to close a little sooner since we are going with a private lender now who only requires 2 weeks of pay stubs instead of a whole month, and they said they are fine with that. So we may be able to move as early as the middle of October instead of the beginning of November. So that is great news also! The sooner, the better.
I had my 38 week appointment today. It went really well.
Last week I was 1 1/2 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced. There is some progress this week....
My midwife said I am now an easy 2 1/2 centimeters or a tight 3...so she will just call it 2 1/2. I am also 70% effaced now and the baby is a little lower. My cevix is softer also. Baby is head down and her heart was 145 bpm.
My midwife also said she thinks the baby is a little posterior in position so she showed me some pelvic tilt type exercises to do twice a day to try to get baby in a little bit better position.
We also talked about possibly breaking my water next week once I hit 39 weeks if I still don't have the baby. I am not sure what we will do yet, but she said she would be willing to do that once I hit 39 weeks.
I just hope that I don't have to resort to that and the baby comes on her own in the next few days. I really want to have her before DH starts his new job. We have until next Thursday before that happens. So I really hope something starts happening soon.
We are going to try accupressure points for the next few days to see if that helps with anything. DH has been doing some points on my feet today and they are definitely causing some intense BH contractions, so I hope that means he is getting the right spots.
I am trying to catch up on my at home medical transcriptionist job...all of last week has yet to be done. I want to get that done before I have the baby. I am also going to make sure I pack the kids bags and set up the bassinet this afternoon.
I finally got the bassinet all set up. It took me a little while to get it figured out because last night I took the covering all off and washed it all. Today I had to figure out how to get it back on around the bed board part of it and make it work. It looks great! I am excited that it is finally put up. It makes it much more real to see that and to know that my baby will be sleeping in there soon.
On another note, my midwife called me today and said that she scheduled an induction for next week Wednesday if I have not had the baby yet. We talked about doing that at my appointment yesterday. She cannot induce me until I am 39 weeks and we really need to have this baby before DH starts working. So next week Wednesday it is. The only thing they will do is break my water and we hope that will do the trick. I really want to avoid Pitocin if I can. Hopefully I will go into labor on my own after that.
The most ideal thing would be for me to have the baby before then...so any prayers or positive thoughts toward me having the baby by this weekend would be much appreciated.
Having that set in stone makes it kind of surreal to know that I will have my baby in a week from now or less...and that I won't be going to my due date two weeks from now. I am excited but also starting to get nervous...mostly about the pain that I know I will be in during it all.
Oh wow! That's fast! Geeze, watch you deliver before me LOL Did she mention checking your bishops score before you begin the induction? It might be a good idea to see what your cervix is doing & even start with some EPO vaginally, to get it nice & ripe.
Yay for getting the bassinett up!!
She never mentioned a bishops score. I actually asked her about taking EPO and she said my cervix was really soft already and that she didn't think I needed to take any.
I will ask her about the bishops score at my next appointment on Tuesday. We will be discussing more about the induction then if I haven't had the baby yet.
I did some pressure points tonight and got some good BH contractions going. Hopefully a few more days of this, among other things...will get something going.
Oh that's good that your cervix is soft & ready, even better yay! It sounds like she may of already done your bishops score. Those pressure points really do work when your body is ready, when I had the accupuncture done I had birthing waves all day & well into the night.
Got my fingers crossed for you that it all works out perfectly!
