    Thanks, ladies!

I had a wonderful night's sleep last night. I fell asleep a little earlier than normal and woke up only twice to head to the bathroom. Also had a dream that I had some bloody show - lol.

I feel much better this morning as a result of getting more sleep. I also had a chiropractic appt. yesterday, so I feel better just moving around, too. Today is going to be a good day!

We are having our heating/cooling unit replaced. Though it's a bit expensive, I feel much better knowing we'll have reliable heating when our little one arrives. I also received some amazing news at work that we're getting raises (we were on a raise freeze due to the economy). That little extra is really going to help with the little one (and help pay for this new heating unit. In the face of hearing how much the heating unit is going to cost, it was awesome to find out I'm going to have a few extra bucks in my paycheck.

My next focus is to skim back through my natural birthing books, so that I continue to remember the techniques I might need in labor. It's been a while since I've read them and I don't want to forget anything.

I'm so glad to hear your feeling well today! Good heating systems are a must for little ones Reading up is a great idea, and really helped get me in the mind set of being ready for birth. YAY for more money!! I giggles at your dream, sounds like your getting close to baby day!

    I'm officially 37 weeks/full term today!

Nothing else to report, really. I have a m/w appt. tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. I also see the chiropractor.

On Saturday morning, my mom is coming to help me clean the house. I'm also taking her to the farmer's market where we'll pick up the fresh turkey I ordered. I also ordered to eggs and fresh ground beef. I just finished watching Food, Inc., and I'm now determined to buy my meat (and produce) locally as much as possible, and to buy organic at the supermarket, when I can't buy local. I was happy to hear that our farmer's market is going to be open once a month in the winter, but I'm sure their will be limited selection of goodies. At least I know I can get wholesome bread and meat all year long.

Anyway, I should have a bit more to report tomorrow after seeing the m/w. I'm not sure if they'll do an internal at 37 weeks, which is fine by me, even though I'm a little curious as to whether or not I have dilated/effaced at all.

That's great you have the option of buying local! We try to buy organic as much as possible.

I had an internal yesterday, but only because I did my GBS and he wanted to do a quick check while he was there. Unless there are problems, I won't have another until I'm 40 wks or in labor.

I would love to buy locally, but we don't have many options here. Can't wait to hear about your appt!!

    Good luck on the appointment!

And congrats on becoming full term. For me that is always a big milestone, and I'm sure it is for you too.

What a great mom to help out!

Sorry - no access to internet at home - only at work. I do have an iphone. I need to figure out how to get on this board using it, so I can make the big announcement when it's time.

The weekend went well. I had a great midwife appointment on Friday. Nothing to report - everything is good to go when the time is right.

My mom (bless her) came and helped me clean Saturday morning and my awesome DH not only helped clean, but also took me grocery shopping and pushed the cart for me. It's been causing me a lot of pain after grocery trips, so it was so nice to have him come along. There's still lots of cleaning to be done in the house, but we got a good chunk of it done, which feels nice. My mom said she'd do more when she comes to cook for Thanksgiving. I'm still waiting for my burst of nesting energy to finish it.

Let's see ... what else? I found some time to skim back through Birthing from Within and doggie-eared some sections that I can keep going back to until I've committed them to memory. I've also been rereading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, which is on my iphone.

I bought a cookie press this weekend, and I plan on making cookies as my early labor project. My family has a tradition of these amazing butter cookies that are made with the press. They are my all time favorite.

I bought our thanksgiving turkey from a local farm, and also joined a CSA for the summer. Before joining, I got to walk the farm with one of the farmers and see all of their chickens, lambs and their dairy cow, Oreo. I'm excited to be eating more locally and to be supporting local agriculture.

Okay, that's a sufficient update. I should probably start working now.

I hope you have a good day at work! The cookies sound yummmmmy, have fun with that when the time comes. I know I was worthless in labor, but I'd love to have something to do next time around. I hope you have a good day at work. Buying local is great.....but not practical here very much. I do order organic produce from a csa group in WA.
