    Hi from Feb 2010 Kridda!
I enjoyed reading your story although I'm very disappointed to hear the way things were handled for your first birth. I sure hope they abide by your rules this time!!

I just need to remind myself that the longer he stays in there, with in reason of course, the healthier he will be.
This is me! I want to make sure I'm growing a good healthy baby in there!

I hope your contractions let up some, sorry that you have them so often w/o actually going into labor. Maybe that means you'll have a short labor?

I have my basically 38 week appointment today so i'll have to update after that. The contractions have let up but it seems like i get one or two good easy days and then a bad day with the contractions. Oh well. I really am hoping that it means a fairly easy short labor. That would be awesome!

DS1 is feeling better. He has been off all week, hasn't been eating hardly anything, fussy, sleepy, all the not so fun things and i think it was from being sick over the weekend and, silly me didn't even think about this, he slammed his face hard into our wood floor and split his lip open Saturday and i think he bruised his mouth. Last night after about a half hour screaming session over dinner, DH was making him eat and he wasn't happy but it really did need to be done as he hadn't eaten anything for nearly 6 days, and a good firming talking to at bed time telling him he didn't need to act like a spoiled brat we are just trying to help him and teach him, he has been amazing today. He hasn't been fussy, he actually ate for me today, not as much as usual but i'm sure his tummy has shrunk a bit and is still a bit yucky feeling, and he has been loving on me which he hasn't done in over a week. It's seems mean what we did to him but it was necessary and it worked.

    Hi Vicki!

I'm sure hoping they do too. I have a birth plan this time and i'm making sure the nirse has one personally and i'm taping one to my door. Of course i'm staying home as long as i can to avoid being around them for as long. Hopefully the plan works. I'm really hoping that the contractions i have been having means a short labor because they leave me pretty sore and i would hate to be worn out from them before my labor even starts specially if it's a long labor. I guess we'll see.

Had my appointment yesterday and everything looks good. The dr said judging by his weight that even if he was born a week early he would be about 7 pounds. So he is actually measuring bigger than his big brother was. Which i felt he was this entire pregnancy anyways. lol. His heart rate sounded good and when i had her check me she said i am now at 2cm and 70% effaced. She didn't think i would go into labor this weekend but wasn't fully confident in that and then told me to schedule an appointment next week, i quote, "just in case". So that right there tells me that she doesn't think i'll make it a week. But you never know. I'm not getting my hopes up and i'm just planning on going to my appointment next Friday but on the inside hoping i won't.

Oh i also started drinking RRL tea and i can tell you that it has already helped my contractions a ton. They are a more regular strength rather than some weak and some really strong ones. The first cup actually made a difference with that.

Bit of a lurker here, but just want to add my congrats to you. Glad you had a positive 38 week appointment .

As for the RRL tea, with DS2 I think it made a big difference for me. I was drinking 2-3 cups a day from 36 weeks on, and by the end @42 wks I never wanted to taste another drop I was so sick of it LOL! But it does have it's benefits

Well last night i had 4 hours of contractions every 8-10 minutes. Then they eased up. Still having some but not as frequent. I'm kind of glad i didn't go into labor as it wouldn't have been my doctor delivering. She was out of town all weekend and she gets back tonight. Hoping i go soon though because these practice labors like to hit me at night and i'm exhausted from not getting much sleep. If i make it to my next appointment, nearly 39 weeks, i'm having my membranes swept. With the way i've been contracting i'm hoping it will just finish things off and i'll go into labor. Dr. predicts a 7 pound baby by 39 weeks. I'm not exactly sure i can handle anything bigger than 7 pounds so i'm hoping i don't go much past 39 weeks if i do go past. I guess we shall see though. I'm feeling pretty good all of a sudden other than very restless, which is driving me mad.

Sorry you're having so much practice labor. My doctor is out of town all this week, so I know how you feel. I think that you'll be able to handle however big he is no matter when he comes. Plus, remember that your doctor's estimate is just a guess--she's not psychic or anything
