Glad you were able to poop (I had no idea cherries worked, I will try them since I am not crazy about prunes. My m/w suggested dried apricots and just upping my fiber and water too)
I was wondering about nusing in a moby or other sling wrap, I have been watching lots of babywearing videos on youtube, trying to decide what might work for me and I can't figure out how to nurse in them. I know there is a video on someone nursing in a Baby K'Tan on youtube, they are similar to the Moby, maybe you can watch that and it will help?
I remembered the cherries only because we've been eating them ever since. As for nursing in a carrier--I never did it with Zoe. I found it really difficult to nurse her without a pillow until she was much bigger.
I started nursing R in the moby when she was about 2 months. Before that age it was too hard - maybe because she was too little, IDK.
When I nursed her in the Moby while I was working at my friend's baby store when she was 3 months - I would put her crotch on one of the crossed panels, and use the other crossed panel to support her back and head and then I'd use the front straight panel to again put between her legs and across her back. It covered really well. I just kinda invented that hold though - couldn't find one that worked for me on a website.
Ugh. I've had a lot of bright red bleeding again. That in combo with the cramping made me call the MW. I was going to wait till tomorrow, but figured the peace of mind was worth a call today. She said not to worry, that it was common (especially in 2nd+ timers) for the bleeding to go away & then come back strong again. With Alexa once it was done it was pretty much done. She said the cramping could be bc of a small clot trying to work itself out too. idk, I still feel that it's mostly intestinal.
Erica, I did dried apricots & cranberries this time around. It worked
Drake, thanks for the tip on sitting in a v. Good idea! I can't wait till P is a little bigger & we can use the Ergo.
I remember having really bad cramps and nasty gushes of blood every time I nursed. This lasted for several weeks (3 or 4), then the bleeding became more like a period that lasted another month or so. Very messy.
Darnit. My FMLA leave was denied so they want me back at work on May 9th. I guess I should've paid closer attention, but I don't qualify for FMLA since I don't work very much. I was having a hard enough time wrapping my head around going back to work when Preston was 3 months old, let alone not even 2 months old! I *know* it's only 1 day a week & that lots of people don't have the choice and HAVE to go back so early on, but it just sucks and I really, REALLY don't want to .
We haven't heard anything about DH's interview so I guess he didn't get the transfer . I'm really bummed about that too.
Preston did AWESOME sleeping last night. Well, awesome for a newborn . He had been waking up for 2-3hours in the middle of the night, but last night he pretty much just woke, nursed and went back to sleep fairly quickly. I think the longest he was up was an hour.
We're taking Alexa to get her haircut today. We've been putting it off because she has such pretty blonde curls, but I think we'll even her hair out and get some bangs for her too. We had cut bangs for her when she was about 18months old, but we've been growing them out a bit and pulling them back. I think she looks super cute without bangs (well, with them too of course ) but she doesn't always want bow-bows in her hair and it's all in her face if she doesn't want them.
We moved Preston into Size 1 diapers today. Eek, the little guy is getting big already!! Some of his newborn clothes are too small already too. I forgot how fast they grow!!
Lots going on for you Hun! I'm sorry to hear DH didn't get the job I would be bummed about going back to work so soon as well, but I'm glad it's only 1 day. I hope you continue to get good sleep and that he keeps growing well! I'd love to see pics of your DD's hair cut.....I've been draging my feet cutting Hadley's hair.
