How strange to hear all this Iditarod talk It was fun to see Lance win last year, he sure looked excited (I haven't actually watched a finish in real life but I was watching on TV when he came in). It would be nice to see someone new again this year, it's not as much fun to watch/hear about an old pro winning AGAIN. You'll be able to find a name when the baby comes, though I had a gal tell me she went into labor the night after she chose a name for her son so it you go over your dates you may think about it a bit. Are you all set with warm stuff for the baby? Are you giving birth in Fairbanks? Are you feeling well?
I hope having no name is not a sign of being bad parents or you may as well add me to the group as this little man is currently nameless as well. Naming your child is a HUGE deal, so don't worry that you can't decide, it may be better to actually meet him/her and get to know them for a little while before really deciding. That's what we plan on doing I think.

Yes I will deliver at the Hospital here in town... and I have warm clothes for the baby I just hope it doesn't drop to 40 below !!!! the day we have to go to the hospital!!!! (so hard on cars....)
The house is warm !!!! Even if cold do you think I can walk to my mail boxe daily with the baby if she/he is in a sling under my arctic parka?????
I hope to have nice spring so I cna go ski and have the baby on me at the same time...
No sleep is one thing...but its so dark out there I would be scared! LOL
You froze your fingers...OMG....painful!
It is safe here !! safer than other states I think.... there is NOBODY.... beside Moose which can be very dangerous other animals run away from Humans and sled dogs....
We have very nice headlights which make ti nice to runs dogs at night and when the moon is full you don't need nothing we have a beautiful sky up here and it is like daylight when it is full moon and she reflect on the snow....
Yes Magali, your baby will be fine in a sling under your parka (as long as your sure there is clear breathing for babe). People can't live inside for the winter just because they had a baby I had to wear DD in the middle of the winter and I just put my coat on over top of her in the sling. You won't believe how you see people carry tiny babies around in car seats uncovered with out hats ahhhhh, I don't even like to talk about it, it makes me soooo mad! I'm so excited to see pics of you and your hubby with your little one. I second that Alaska is a great place to live, and that it's less scarry animal wise then most any other state I know of. No snakes and only 1 or 2 poision spider (of which I have NEVER seen one), not too bad if you ask me.
Magali - how are you doing? Can we get some more pics of your beautiful Alaska? If I could stand the cold I would plan a trip up there. I'd love to see the country from boxcar.. can you tell i watch too much Travel Channel?
