I'm impressed by your attitude! We need more preggos like that and there would be far less inductions, and everything that comes with it! Mind you it *does* sound like you're still fairly comfortable so I'm sure that helps.

One good thing about being overdue is that you have more time to get things ready! Although for me, I don't know if I'd ever be "ready" even if I had all the time in the world!

It sounds like you are doing well. Savor the good things about being pregnant, since it will probably be a while until you are pregnant again. Especially with it being your first pregnancy--you won't experience being pregnant for the first time ever again, and first pregnancies are really special.

Your baby will come when ready. One study showed that the average length of a first pregnancy when labor is allowed to begin spontaneously is 41 weeks 1 day, so you haven't even reached average yet.

Baby's still hanging out, I'm still fairly comfortable. My mom's coming up today to stay for the birth and a little while afterwards. I'm hoping the beb either comes today or tomorrow, or stays inside until at least Sunday. A good friend is moving to the UK at the beginning of March to be with her fiancée, and he's in town on Saturday. DP is sort of hosting the get together at his parent's place, so I'd like to be well enough to at least attend for a bit, or well enough that he can at least attend.

Last night the baby was moving around like mad. I think s(he) is trying to find the way out. At least that's what I'm hoping!

I'm glad your doing well, enjoy this time with your mom!

41 week update:

Had a midwife appointment this morning. Saw the student I hadn't before, who was nice. My cervix is still fairly posterior, so she had some trouble getting to it, so her mentor midwife (my second mw) came in and tried the membrane sweep too, with success. She said it was soft and open (about 2 cm, but she could stretch to 3), but still about a cm of height left. Baby is low, head down still, and seems happy.

I had an ultrasound this afternoon just to check on fluid levels etc. and the u/s tech said the baby seemed very comfortable, lots of fluid, good heart rate (145) and lots of movement. So I'm going to get comfy too, enjoy my full nights of sleep and quiet time. The only (slightly) concerning thing was the technician estimated the weight at 8.5 lbs. I still don't think s(he)'s that big, but now there's a seed in my head that they might be.

I'm glad your MW was able to do the sweep. I'm also glad that you and baby are still looking healthy and everything checked out with fluid levels, etc. I wouldn't worry about the weight estimate. They can be off by a lot. How big were you as a baby? Your baby is likely to be about the same size. Our bodies typically only grow babies who are the size we are able to push out. Even if the baby is 8 and a half pounds, that isn't *that* big--all of my mom's babies were more than 8 lbs, and she is a petite woman and had them all vaginally just fine.

I was 7lb9 (at 41w1), and DP was just over 7, and I've been measuring on target throughout the pregnancy. I'm not really worried, I'm sure my body can handle it, it was just surprising to hear. I think they're probably wrong, but only time will tell

My money is on tomorrow for baby day. I hope you get some rest tonight hun. I bet you will be closer at weight estimates for your baby, I had an ob tell me he thinks moms are always the best at guessing!
