~Remembering sweet baby Oliver, born to Heaven October 20, 2009, & keeping Carole in our prayers~
I had my 36 week appointment today. I found out that Zayne is head downThere were serious doubts...at my 22 week appt U/S he was breech so I had him check again at my 30 week appointment and Zayne was transverse (completely sideways!!!!!) I was worried that he wouldn't flip but he did. Unfortunately he's still not engaged but I am 1 cm dilated "yippee skippy". I was 1.5 cm with Lexi for almost 4 weeks so I'm not getting excited about my 1 cm just yet. I'm hoping things start moving soon...I"m really ready to be done!
Sounds like a great appointment!! How is Lexi doing with the idea of being a big sis? I hope you have a restful weekend, and a baby soon!
I believe things are getting closer. Pretty sure I've been (slowly) losing my mucus plug. It's been really gross but hopfully it means things will happen sooner than later. My doula came up this weekend to go over my birth plan and get to know my house. She is so awesome (she drove 2 hours to come to my house)! She gave me some "homework" regarding exercises for me to do (she is a Bradley instructor but since she's so far away I couldn't take her class) and things for DH and I to do together each night to help him get intuned to me and my body.
This weekend DH painted Lexi and Zayne's bedroom. It was a very pink room (when it was just Lexi) and now it is a chocolate color. It's SOOOO different but I LOVE it! Last night we put together Zayne's crib and put the kids' names above their cribs. I'm waiting for some things to come in the mail and then the room will be complete.
Next thing I need to do is pack my hospital bag!I also need to clean out my car so I have somewhere to sit when DH drives me to the hospital! (I am a bit of a pack rat when it comes to my car) I've been putting things off way too much this time around.
OK I have some time so I will do a little intro.
DH and I met in 2002 at my high school graduation. We were married in 2005 right before he was deployed to Iraq and then had our wedding in Sept. 2007 after he returned home. In November of that year (right before Thanksgiving) we found out that we were pregnant with our DD, Lexi.
We weren't "trying" but weren't preventing when we got pregnant with her. It was a very uneventful pregnancy. I had no m/s and everything went VERY smooth. She was measuring big (they thought she would be 10-11 pounds) so they decided to induce. Here is the birth story I posted when she was born...
Alexandrea (Lexi) was born yesterday (Friday August 1,2008 ) at 8:32 PM! She came out screaming weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long.
So here's the long and short of it!
I went in on Wednesday to be induced, as you all know. WELL...It didn't work! I was sent home Wednesday night still 1.5 cm dilated. Didn't budge at all. I was told to come back Saturday for the second attempt.
Then late Thursday afternoon DH and I were DTD (because I thought it would help get her here faster) and I thought my water broke. I called the DR and they had me come in and check. My water hadn't broken but since I was already at the hospital they might as well try inducing again because I was 75% efaced, Because of delays they didn't start pitocin until 3:40 AM Friday morning.
MY whole plan of a natural birth was thrown out the window by 8:00 AM. I was getting hit hard with contractions and begged (and cried) for the epideral. I finally got it around noon. My water broke at 5:00PM and I was ready to start pushing at 8:00(10 cm and 100% efaced but still 0 station). Lexi would have been born at 8:15 but the Dr still had not arrived yet, thinking it would take me longer. If you're still reading...that's the story!
WELL...little Lexi was only 8 months old when I found out I was pregnant again(it was April Fools Day when I found out). I was on the mini-pill because I had been breast feeding and aparently once you quit breast feeding the chances of the mini-pill failing increases dramatically! (like 1:20 people get pregnant) Needless to say we were very shocked and not sure what we were going to do. It didn't take too long for DH and I to accept our gift and know that we were blessed.
This pregnancy hasn't been as easy as my last pregnancy but it hasn't been too bad either. I (again) didn't have any m/s and wasn't too exhausted. I have had alot of back pain thoughout this entire pregnancy but that's really been the worst of it.
Yay for your lodge, Megan!
What a great intro story.
