Kristine- Honestly I say no I don't have a high pain tolerance. This is the first time I have put myself in a postition to be in this much pain. I try to avoid pain. I thought the contractions were no worse then first day period cramps. More uncomfratable then painful. Like I said the worse is transition, only because I couldn't fully relax. At times moving helped, other times indian style helped.
I really believe my humor helped me through. We were joking alot in the begining. SIL said the nurses thought Matt and I were funny, and a fun labor couple. I was all about just having sex and avoiding the pit to get things going.lol!
Thanks for all the great comments on Wade. We think he is perfect! Yesterday Matt and I were on the way back from his 1st Dr appt (well check)- Matt says do you really think people just tell us how cute he is because they don't want to tell us he is an ugly baby! I just died laughing! He cracks me up! Of course he is cute!
Here he is all ready for his Dr Appt!
In his PJ's for the evening! He gets too toasty at night, so he sleeps in a T-shirt. All these clothes and his fav outfit is a white tshirt! lmao!
Thats reassuring..I have pretty bad menstrual cramping, so its kinda nice to know how the contractions feel compared to that!
He is just a doll and he is definitely not an ugly baby! Your DH is too funny! Isn't that so funny about the tshirt..babies get so many cute things and what is the most simple seems to be the best or favorite!
WOW, born on his edd who would've thought! Great job handling the pit. i know it's not ideal but you did amazing! Wade is just adorable, I hope bfing is going well, were you able to get into the LC they can be a lifesaver. Hope you are getting some rest and enjoying your babymoon!

Congrats, Nicole! Your birth story had a lot in common with mine, but I ended up getting the epidural about 4 hours after I got pitocin! WTG for doing it without pain meds!
Wow Wade is a week old! What a week! Bfing has been alittle rough. We (should say I) had a break down Friday night/Sat. My nipples were killing me, he would suck-nurse for at least an hour! It was torchure, I hated feeding him. So I broke down and pumped, since he loved to suck we gave him a paci also. I cried most of yesterday. He is content with the paci and bottle of ebm. I am feeling better today. Tomorrow I am hoping to get into see the LC at the hospital. Then Tuesday I am having a home visit from another LC, so hopefuly we can get back on track. If not I feel like him getting my BM is most important, weather I have to pump or not. One day at a time. He is sleeping about 2-3 hours a time- better then nothing! He is still perfect! My mom is staying with me this week, DH back to work. I would love it if he could stay off longer! He has been so much help!!!
I'm glad some of you can relate to the cutness thing! lol! It's funny!! Thanks again!
