I did have a good weekend, very busy. I sat down with Clay our 16yo so he could show me how to get pics on here yesterday, but I was kinda tired and couldn't sit long enough to get it figured out. so I'm bummed about that. I'll get it though!
Kraig and I were married after 2 years of dating. Sydney was born 1989. Before she was born, I thought I wanted to stick with my career, and fully intended to put her in daycare, and maybe have one more... I delivered her naturally with no medical intervention because I wanted a natural birth after taking a birthing class. After my 3 month maternaty leave, going back to work, to be honest,was torture. I knew then that what I really wanted was to be a stay at home mom. After a year, I was able to quit and we moved to a small, family friendly town. In 92 Clay was born. Then 94 Grace, 96 Lily, 00 Nate, 04 Marcus.
We didn't start out thinking we wanted a large family. But I have easy pregnancies and deliveries, I'm a SAHM, and it was easy to add one more. So here we are, having our 7th - our tiebreaker.
I'll post pictures soon.
So I'm guessing this is your last? If it is how does it feel to know your done? I can't imagaine 7 kids:) Of course I can't imagaine not being a SAHM some day either. I'm glad your doing well, and I'm excited to follow this lodge. Have your others been early or late or a mix? Do you have a guess about the sex of the baby? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious and DD is napping so I have a few minutes of quiet!

Let's see, Sydney and Clay were born on their due dates, then Grace was one day late - totally her personality! Then Nate and Marcus were born 3 and 6 days early. I am pretty sure I'll be having this baby the last week of Sept.
I don't have a clue about the sex of this one, but Marcus (4yo) is convinced though that we are having a girl, and he's named her Jet.:D Just the other day though, he said I had a boy baby in my belly button named Quay, and Jet was in the big part of my belly. OOO.KKKaay..... never a dull moment with kids - right!
Well the girls are all voting for a girl, and the Clay and Nate are voting for a boy, and Marcus makes them mad because he's sure it's a girl - where he got that idea is anyones guess. Kraig is neutral, and I waver back and forth.Quote:

Awesome that you grew up here! I love Alaska and hope to stay. Very interesting that all you kids where so close to their due dates, I can't wait to see what this one does. Maybe your going to have girl this time and you have another boy in your future:) I've heard that kids are supposed to be good at guessing. My DS who was 2 1/2 at the time said we were having a girl from the time he started talking about her. Shall be fun to see!
Maybe Marcas knows something the docs and you don't! Maybe you are having twins!! LMAO! Jet and Quay! My friends boy was 4 when she was last prego and he named her baby Sally, lol! You are the woman for having 6 (soon to be 7) kids!! How do you manage your sanity? And whats your secret to having alone time with your DH? Oh and any advise to us first time NCBers? Whats the hardest part of a ncb? lol! We all seem to be attacking you with questions!! Sorry I'm nosey!:)

I hope I don't sound like a broken record, but for 1st time NCB's is:
* to have a plan ( I like a birthplan signed by my doc, for the first couple)
* move around - do not lay in bed to labor
* find your grove, I've labored in a rocking chair, on a birthing ball, squatting, hanging on my dhs' neck, leaning over the bed... find something that feels right and stick with that. I have a funny about squatting. I squatted by putting my arms on the back of the chair, and hooking my fingers under the table in our room. Then I'd breath - big deep breaths in through my nose, then exhaling through my mouth. A nurse came in and watched me for a moment and said, "you are going to get really dehydrated breathing like that." So I finished with the contrax and walked over to get my water bottle for a swig. Baby was born about 10 minutes later.... she thought I was in early labor by how calm I was. That reminds me of another point.
* stay calm. Pain is your friend, it's telling you that your body is working, and you are laboring to have a baby. Go with it, work with it. When you hit the point that you say you can't do this anymore, you are more than likely in transition, and very close to meeting your baby. I heard something the other day that I really liked, so I'll share here, " Pain is fear leaving your body."
I think the hardest part of being a NCBer in the hosp is the feeling of having to fight for how you want your birth to go. Some hosp make it easy, and have a NCB mentality, other's have proceedures and protocals that are set up for "managed" labor and delivery. which reminds me of another important point.
* do not get to the hosp too early. if you go in and they give you the option of being admitted or leaving for awhile - leave. even if it's to walk the hosp halls.
That's all I can think of for now....
