Ok to continue...
Doc comes in to check me and I'm at 5cm! and baby is dropped! I forgot to ask what station he is at... He says lets just go with it. yahoo! So I labor on the birthing ball for a little over an hour breathing through contrax and rolling the ball in a circular motion -thinking that it would help move the baby down more. The funny thing is that the ball was "sticking" to the floor making a rrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrr sound. when the contractions get stronger and longer at about 8:30/8:40 I really want to stand and lean on the bed, but couldn't figure out how to get the whole thing to rise. We called the nurse in and she asked if she could check me, just then doc came in and did it. I was at a 7 I asked for the squat bar to be put on the bed, and labored for 2-3 contractons hanging on that then when to all fours on the bed for 1 or 2 more, then felt the urgent need to push, actually I could not help but push. Doc walked in just at the right time and asked to check me. I said ok, but please check me like this. I was still on all fours. he did and I was complete! He asked me if I could hold on while they got everything around and he got suited up ~ I'd been telling the nurse that I move along and then I go fast..... I guess they didn't believe me. So I move up to the squat bar and have another pushing contraction. They were hustling! Doc says hang on just a sec... I looked at him thinking Welll........ I'll try! So they are ready and he wants me to get on my back to deliver because he wants to guide the shoulders out because of baby size (plus he gives excellent perinium support!!) So I roll back - I think that may have been when I tweeked my back..
One more push and Joshua Kraig made his entrance! 9lbs 2oz and 20 inches. born at 9:02 10/9/08
Apgars were 8/9 no tearing not even a road rash. I did have pit for bleeding, but I don't know if I was bleeding or if it was just a precaution. Mom and dad brought the kids and we had a good time of getting to know you! I nursed him for a couple of hours. took a shower got dressed and got out of there at 6. Came home and slept in my own bed! wonderful. Baby is nursing great, my milk came in on my right side - left soon to follow. He is delightful. so beautiful and perfect. We are praising and thanking the LORD for his mercy and grace and answered prayer. There were at least 7 specific answers to specific prayers about this birth. I just kept saying all day "I am so grateful!" and I still am!
I'll post pics asap.
I've certianly enjoyed sharing this journey with you! what a super group!
