What kind of martial arts does your BIL train? DH and I did kung fu for a long time and are thinking of going back. We were going to open our own studio but (long story) it never happened.
He does Tae Kwon Do. They actually already opened the studio in their home but they're moving to a storefront now, we're really excited for them.I have no clue what all the differences are between all the different martial arts though! Kung Fu always sounds so "tough" to me...
That's cool that you used to be into that! You should go back!
Just checking on you!
Wow, that's really neat!! My husband did Tae Kwon Do for years n' years while growing up.

Is everything going ok for you hun? It's been a while since you updated, just thinking of you.
Vanessa, you're really good at keeping us on track! Thanks for thinking of me.
Honestly, though, there's not much to tell. Crampy BH's here and there, which I'm sure are doing something but aren't putting me into full-blown labor yet. I'm sure I'll probably have this baby sooner than 40w5d (which is when I had DD), yesterday I did feel like there might be some progress with the way the BH's were being, but I don't know if it means tomorrow or two weeks. I've just been busy chasing two littles and trying to help DH with the work he's been doing (mostly keeping the kids out of the way so he can focus).
Oh, and I've been cooking...DH says I don't nest, I cook. The other day I made--from scratch--a banana cream pie, banana bread, and a lasagna for dinner (froze half).
Wednesday I was helping out at the church kitchen, they've been remodeling and putting a new roof on and they provide lunch for all the workers. I was called in at the last minute because they needed someone who knew what was going onas the lead for the day. So I wound up being on my feet just about all day long, I was at the church about 6 hours...and my pelvic bones were SO sore after that, I couldn't walk that evening and could barely sleep that night because of the pain. So I think I might have overdone it a bit.
Friday and Saturday I was watching for signs of labor starting since my mom was predicting somewhere around the 5th, but I didn't get much. Some cramping, some loose stools, some BHs that didn't go anywhere. I've always said that I wasn't going to get antsy this pregnancy until at least Sept 20 (6 days after my due date) and I'm still holding to that. If it happens before that, great.
Church this morning was really nice, we'd been meeting at a movie theater the last two months during the remodel and re-roofing of our building, and today was the first week back in the regular building. There were a lot of people there to celebrate! A friend of mine from church had her baby this last week, too (her due date was the 2nd) so she was there with her new baby daughter. It was fun being able to show DS a newborn, I've been pointing out babies to him and talking about what Baby Seth will be like, but all the babies have been older (6 months or more). I think he's pretty much getting the idea. Not too concerned...although he's been having more potty accidents and last night he said he wanted to "be a baby"all this before Seth even arrives, he's trying to revert to being his sister I think. He gets lots of attention but he has kind of a jealous personality and it's been hard for him to learn to share.
So anyway, yes, I'm still alive and still here, just haven't updated because I didn't figure I had much to say! I guess I had more than I thought. I'll try to update more often from here on out!

Good to hear from youSOMEONE has to keep you gals on track...hehehe! I feel like a mother hen or something, but I just can't resist! Of course you only have to update when you feel like it, this is YOUR lodge. My DS#1 is very concered that nobody loves him....and he obvioulsy knows better, I guess it's just the way it goes when you add more people to your family.
It was great to read an update from you RachelI can relate to being so sore after standing for 6hrs, I crashed pretty good after putting together my 30 freezer meals. Hope your feeling better now! It sure sounds like your body is preping for labor, that's so exciting!

So I have a midwife appt today, it's been almost 2 weeks so we'll see if anything seems to be happening. Although I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with an internal so it might be same old same old.
We also have company coming in tonight (which DH did mention but for some reason I completely forgot that it was THIS Tuesday until last night) and I'm in mild panic mode because my house is NOT ready for guests at the moment and I'll be gone most of the afternoon because of the appt. So much to clean...I don't have any idea what I'll make for dinner...yikes! At least they'll only be here the one night!
Hope your guests went ok! I'm excited to hear if there was any action at your appointment![]()
