Your well over a week from October 6th, you have lots of time for your body to get going. You need to round up your SIL and go shopping and get pedicures, even if you've done it already do it again. You gals need to get out and have a day of fun Hang in there, it's hard to see the light when your so close yet so far away. You won't be pregnant forever!

    Default 39w+1,000,000,000days

Okay so I'm not exactly 39w+ a million days, more like 39w+5d, but it feels like a million. Time is dragging at a painfully slow pace. It's hard to remember what it feels like to not be excessively pregnant. I'm very ready for baby to be born, and I'm frustrated that baby isn't ready too.

SIL & I went for a 2 hour walk this morning. While we were walking I *think* I felt like baby was putting some more pressure on me down low, possibly moving down a bit, but it may just be wishful thinking too. No contractions at all. And now our walk is over I'm not sure it had any effect, other than to make my back sore and tired. But I think we're planning on walking again tomorrow.

Another possibly positive sign of baby coming soon (I hope) is that I'm feeling a bit of a "nesting" urge today. Even though I'm tired from our walk, I don't want to take a nap, I feel the need to organize the storage room in my basement. Of course, this is likely necessitated from the fact that I completely turned the storage room upside down this morning looking for some winter wear for Nolan (it was 1 degree celcius here this morning, which is low 30's for you farenheit girls). Gives me something to do this afternoon.

Nicole: as for the RRL tea, here's what I've found online: "Raspberry leaf does not start labor or promote contractions. It is not an emmenagogue or oxytocic herb. What it does is help strengthen the pelvic and uterine muscles so that once labor does start the muscles will be more efficient." So basically, if I ever do start having contractions, hopefully the RRL tea will improve them or help them be efficient.

And as for DTD to maybe get things going, this is tough because I am sooo not in the mood. I do not feel sexy, I feel like a walrus. I am not feeling lovey-dovey with dh, I'm hormonal and cranky. We did DTD the other night, but it was kinda awkward and there was certainly no fireworks on my end. But I'm going to initiate things again tonight, and try to "get into it" a little more.

Alright, basement is mostly cleaned up, storage room reasonably put back together, and I've had one contraction. Too early to be excited, but better than zero contractions I suppose. Here's hoping I have another one sometime this millenium...

    Hi Shella,

Sorry to have been MIA but just wanted to check in... sorry things are dragging for you. Hope they rev up soon. Great that you got some walking in and that you are feeling nesting urges. That is a good sign!

I hear you about DTD. I felt the same way when I was over 36 weeks - just big and, well, just not into it. But hang in there!!! Hope your LO comes soon!

Shella- who is your BB?? Can't wait to hear updates! I heard and read the same thing about RRL! As for DTD. Turn the lights off, and pretend you are not prego. Try not to hang up on the belly getting in the way. For me, I have to block out the fact I feel big and the belly is in the way. Maybe think of another time you and DH were DTD that was HOT, and revisit that in your mind. They say sex can really help getting that cervix soft. As I told DH, "take one for the team" (lol)

Sounds like you're doing lots of great things to prepare your body and get baby into position. I hope things start up for you soon. I really think DTD helped soften my cervix, I went from high and closed one day to having some show the next after some early morning "activity".

Hmmmm, think you could have your baby before SIL? How crazy would that be? Maybe you'll have the kidos on the same day! Any contractions are a great sign, have any more?

Shella, how are things today? are you having any signs of labor? I just posted on Nicole's lodge that I have no signs whatsoever! Hope it's a different story for you!
