Today I almost made it out of work in 4 hours!! Emily inspired me to try making a sling, and found no sew instructions on the babywearing BB. I got a tealish blue/green color (I wanted purple, but thought DH would kill me if I carried my baby boy around in purple!) It looks complicated, but can't be any more complicated than the baby Bjorn carrier! I meet with my doula and her partner tomorrow night. I think I'm supposed to have questions for them. I'm not sure what I don't know. . . Any suggestions on what to ask?
Yay! I need to cut my moby wrap and get the hardware for the ring sling I want to make...I do have a pattern and fabric for a pouch...I'm just feeling really lazy and don't want to sew. I sew so much for my job...it's hard to motivate myself for personal projects.
I'm not sure what questions to ask your doula. Mine is coming on thursday and she seems to have an agenda....maybe once you guys start talking the questions will pop into your head.
I think it will be similar to the moby slings. It's a long (5 yard) strip of fabric. I'll have to find a way to mark the middle to make putting it on easier.
I met with my doula once, but haven't met the partner yet. They both have histories of homebirthing their children. One has 5 and one has 7. I don't know that I had many questions for her the first time, she did most of the talking. I'm bad about asking questions, I'll ask them in labor, when I know I have a question!
Really? *lol* I'm the opposite. I probably talked and asked her to death. *lol*
I just grabbed my notebook. Maybe you could use some of those questions if you didn't yet? Anything else you probably know already, so I won't post those Q's.
-Can you tell us about experiences you had with birth and your philosophy?
-How will you be able to support us during labour?
(I can imagine she will say.....emotionally, physically.....and something else I can't think of right now. You could ask her to give you examples and go into detail.)
-What are the services you provide after birth?
-When and where will we meet when I start labour?
-How do you handle conflicts with medical personal?
You probably had most of those answered while you were interviewing her. Or while she was talking.
I've made a Moby Wrap few weeks ago but with little more fabric since my hubby is really tall. I was really easy and I didn't need to saw it.....cut only.
I think I would just fold it in half and probably saw a mark in the middle???
I just need to brag! I froze enough black raspberries to make 19 pies. That's the best raspberry year yet! We are NEVER moving from this property! On a pregnancy note, I had BH the entire time I was freezing and seperating the berries. I've decided when the time comes I'm gonna have to cook myself into labor!
I forgot to take Benedryl last night and of course I'm wide awake at 4AM. I know this must be the time for my LOs feeding, I've woken up at 4AM since I got pregnant (before I knew I was pregnant). For the past month I've done the benedryl thing per my doctors instructions. I don't know HOW I forgot last night. I won't forget tonight!!
Yum!! Black Raspberries!!! Ya, cooking yourself into labor sounds like a good idea! You get labor going, and pleanty of meals for the freezer/fridge!![]()
