William is now 3 days old. after a very exhausting first night home, yesterday was great. The midwives came for their first home visit and were thrilled with how William and I are doing. He's nursing like a champ and upon discharge from the hospital only lost 4ozs. I don't know if he lost anymore or not since the MW don't like to weigh them until about day 5 I think due to the fact that most babies lose 10% of their birthweight. My milk came in yesterday so I don't think I have to worry about loss now, it makes me so happy to see the milk drip off his chin after a meal

Last night was a great night as far as sleep goes. He woke every 2 hours to nurse, but then gave me a great 4 hour stretch of sleep from 2am-6am. I know how frequently babies change their sleep habits so I'm going to enjoy that nice little stretch I got last night lol. I think Aidan was 8 months old before I got anything longer than 2 hours out of him.

As rediculously uncomfortable as I was and sick, I already miss being pregnant, so I think that's something I'm going to have to deal with again, other than that my moods have been pretty good. Aidan has been sick and been super sucky and I'm sure some of it is the arrival of his baby brother, but we both had a few tears together last night. I feel much better this time though than I did when I had Aidan, the baby blues and PPD kicked in right away with him and I was constantly crying and down. so hopefully all this is, is hormones and I won't have to deal with the PPD monster again this time around.

Awww Allie, he is absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see some more photos! (BTW - Love the name too - it's on our (well, my) list as a potential!)

Yay for a four hour stretch of sleep, just the one longer period overnight can be enough to help you get through each day. It's so cool that the midwives don't weigh baby until day 5 - it totally makes sense! And awww about the milk dripping of his chin

Oh, I so hope this round goes better for you as far as PPD. I'm so glad nursing is going wonderfully. I hope Aidan is better again soon.

another good night last night, I got a 4.5 hour stretch. I'm going to take it because like I've said before, newborns sleep patterns change so fast. This kid literally sleeps all day though, he only wakes to nurse (when I wake him to nurse lol) and then I give him a bath at night to wake him up for an hour before bed so he'll sleep a bit better. Aidan was totally different, he NEVER slept, I'd get a nap or two out of him during the day but he was usually on the boob all day.

Yesterday we had our homevisit from the midwives again, they decided to weigh him and he is now a whopping 7lbs 3oz, he's already surpassed his birthweight that's my growing boy.

Anyway, here's a few pics of the last couple days. William is such a good baby, he only cries when he's naked and I don't get him nunnies fast enough, I'm glad because man oh man he has a good set of lungs lol.

Hmm pics aren't working for me, but I am at work so that is nothing new. I will try to check it out at home. That is great news on the sleep front. Yay on the weight gain. That is awesome!!
