Thats funny, because coming on pg.org sorts my head out too when I can't sleep

I think maybe with the positioning thing.. You've already said she's very blunt, right? And no matter what she does, her ladies best interest are always what she strives for. So I'd say that her saying that positioning has NOTHING to do with birthing was so that the other ladies (you don't have to be naturally minded to use a m/w, some ladies are FAR less confident in their bodies abilities or choose to use a m/w because they HATE doctors!) wouldn't get afraid. That would be my first conclusion, because I know that before I started researching etc I would have gotten really really afraid if I'd heard someone say bad positioning of bub makes birthing harder. I would have spent all my time trying to change that, Heck I'd have been hanging from the chandalier if I thought it would help! She may actually agree with you, but perhaps she's just being professional.

Staying at home and teaching piano sounds wonderful How many lessons a week will you give? And will it be only when Dh is home so he can have the kids? Sorry I think I forgot if you mentioned that already.

How does baby feel now position wise? And I'm sorry you and DH got scared last night... Sounds like things are getting ready.

The house move... Sounds great I will be moving house really shortly, from one side of the house where I live to the other. We are on one side and both of our families are on the other side. Its good because we have the privacy we wanted but family is just too far away now we have a baby on the way, KWIM?

You make a good point Lea about perhaps her just trying to be professional. It's quite possible. My sister and I were talking about her today (I sound like I'm obsessed with her lol but I'm really not) and she made a good point about how N gets away with brushing things off etc because she's usually right but it's more the way she does it that makes you or your concerns insignificant which I don't like. I don't think I'll be back with the program for the next birth. If we can afford it I would like to have a homebirth.

As far as teaching piano goes. Right now I have 4 students, but I'd maybe pick up another 8 to 10 next fall if it would mean I could stay home. Hunter is learning to play quietly during my lessons although lately he just wants to come pound on the piano too! I hope we can get past this phase. My mom taught piano my whole life and we learned early on to manage ourselves for a couple hours each afternoon. I'll probably go the same way with my kids and try to skip the babysitter all together.

I had an appointment today. I love love the midwife who was on today. She is from Ireland and such a sweetheart - I love hearing her accent too! She is not technically licenced in Canada yet but working towards it and has years of experience in Ireland. It was good. I mentioned about losing my mucus plug 3 weeks ago and how I've had spotting and cramping ever since. She listened to me and had me take a swab to check for a YI and some sort of bacterial infection. I was also booked into the hospital for Tuesday to get a bpp u/s. The u/s I'm not sure is really necessary. I may ask to cancel that yet but I'm just glad they are checking for a YI or bacterial infection as I've had other problems with both this pregnancy. Time to get back on the acidophilous as well I guess. All in all it was a good appointment though.

Ended up going for the u/s today after all. The tech agreed that it probably wasn't necessary. All checked out great though - although really not much you can check at this stage in the game - it's so hard to see everything since the baby is so big. Managed to stay strong and not ask if she could see the sex lol - couldn't find out at the last one and now that we're so close I figured we'd keep it a surprise. Baby was "measuring" close to 9lbs which is interesting. I suspect he or she is bigger than Hunter (who was 8lbs 1oz at birth) based on how I feel but I know it can be + or - a lb or two.

I finished up work on Friday and am now enjoying being at home! Saturday DH and I went and saw the BOBB. I really enjoyed it - lots of tears on my part anyway. DH and I had fun discussing it after. Sometimes he just amazes me. All through our first I knew he supported me going natural but he was pretty quiet about it and I figured it was more a me thing than a him thing. After the movie he told me how proud he was of me for last time and how even before we were married he always thought natural was better and how glad he was that he married someone who believed the same things. Wow - it's so funny that I had no idea that he not only supported me but wanted that for me!

Anyway - just thought I'd update my lodge. I have another midwife appointment on Friday so I guess we'll see what they say then.

Hi again! Good to know that things are looking just peachy in there.....and that weight estimate! Well, yes it will be interesting to see just how much this LO really does weigh on his or her birthday.

Yay for starting mat leave! That must be such a relief, to at least not have to worry about work anymore. Enjoy your one on one time with Hunter right now.

We were at the BOBB too! I *think* I saw you come in, you look just like your photos. (You know how sometimes people look so different from their pictures?) Anyway, we were smack dab in the middle of the seats, we got there pretty early, and I couldn't believe how crowded it was. I was hoping you'd get to sit in a seat and not on the floor. I was totally crying too! Darn hormones.

    Anyhow, take care and KUP!

I wondered if you were there Nicole! We should have arranged to meet up or something Did you stay for the discussion? We had to duck out and retrieve Hunter from the grandparents. We ended up on the side on the stairs (by an absolutely adorable baby...(and his parents) man I just wanted to squish him lol) but it wasn't too bad actually. I couldn't believe how full it was too! It was a great turn out!

Conni - it just does not seem possible that you are already 38 weeks, where does the time go? Our July babies seem so teeny to me still, but then again having a teenager can do that I guess.

I think it's incredible that you will be able to stay at home. The piano lessons idea sounds wonderful. People are constantly asking me to teach their kids but I don't have room in my house or childcare for my kids, or I'd do it. You can make a good bit of extra cash with lessons - I used to teach violin/viola back in high school and college for some extra money.

I remember reading Hunter's birth story back on our birth board and loving it - it was awesome that you avoided induction (I did do an induction pain med free with DS#2 but it was not 'natural' like DD, KWIM?)

In any case, lots of luck. Don't sweat the weight estimate - my first was 8 lb 14 oz and second was 10 lb 9 oz - the second was way easier to push, he was optimally positioned and it was just easier knowing how to push well the 2nd time.

We actually weren't sure if we would go till the last minute. We've all been sick the last couple of weeks. I would have loved to go introduce myself, but like I said, I was stuck in the middle of the seats, and with it being so crowded, I sort of lost track of where you were. We stayed for the snacks , but the discussion was actually a small group thing, they wanted people to split into groups of 4 or 6 people, and discuss different topics. We didn't really feel like staying for that, and had to get home to get Alicia anyway.

Karen - this pregnancy has been super fast for me as well! Something about already being busy with a kid helps that lol!

I know what you mean about it being complicated to teach and manage kids etc. I'm finding it quite difficult this year. I've been going to people's houses rather than them coming to me and Hunter is not really content to play by himself anymore. He wants to come pound on the piano too! I think we'll play this one by ear. I won't be adding any more students until I can figure out how to handle two under two.

Nicole - ah yes when we heard about the small groups DH got a wild look in his eye and said "um - did you want to stay for that?" LOL - I think he was still reeling from the amount of boobie shots and va jay jay's that he got to see - and "not in a good way" as he put it lol. We signed the petition though - I'm hoping to do a homebirth for our next one and it would be so great if it was covered! We're hoping to move back to the south side in the next couple of months here and as much as I love the midwife program out here I doubt I'll be back for the next one. Sorry we didn't get to connect though - we should plan a play date one of these days for our LOs! I'm in the city just a few blocks away from you a few times a week usually! It might have to wait till after baby though since I'm sticking closer to home these days...but soon!

I think it's almost more fun to see what our husbands reactions are to the BOBB movie, than to watch it ourselves lol That's wonderful that your dh is so supportive of it all & yay for a big healthy baby - that's so exciting!

I hope your m/w appt on friday goes well
