    DH caught a cold. I came down with it today so now I'm just hoping and praying the baby doesn't want to make an appearance anytime soon! I have a fever and aches and chills and breathing/coughing burns. I'm so scared I'll go into labour on top of this! Any ideas for treating this?

    Oh yuck DH and I both had that a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be making it's rounds around here.

    I can't think of any suggestions other than the obvious ones like drink a lot of water, rest as much as possible (yeah, right!), etc. Chicken soup, hot water with honey, lemon and ginger. I did resort to taking a Tylenol before bed while I was sick just so I could sleep. I don't think you should feel too guilty if a Tylenol would help you, you need as much sleep as you can get right now.

    Stay in there a little bit longer baby!!

    It`s been a few days since I`ve had the energy to update my lodge. DH and I were hit hard with influenza and are still recovering but I feel like I turned a corner last night and now it is just the cough (and sore throat from the cough) left.

    My appointment last Friday was alright. My results for a YI turned up negative however they saw something in the microscope and needed my midwife to do a swab way way in there with the speculum. I jokingly asked if it would send me into labour. She said she could dig a little in there and see where I was at. I was planning on not having any internals until I was in labour but since I was on my back nekid already I consented to let her check. Found out that I was soft but not effaced or dilated at all. Should have just left it but oh well.

    Sunday we hung out with my inlaws all day. My 17 year old BIL wasn`t feeling good but he kind of passed it off as a migraine that wouldn`t go away. Lovely boy infected all of us with influenza. Wish there was someway I could impart on to him exactly what he did. I`m just very peeved with people who don`t quaranteen (sp) themselves when they are sick. On the weekend we went to McD`s with DS and I was going to let him play but when I saw a mom with an obviously sick (snot pooring out his nose and he was coughing) kid playing in there we left...what are people thinking!!! Someday my BIL will get married and hopefully have babies...when his wife hits 39 weeks I`m going to remind him what he did lol!

    Been feeling some crazy pressure in my pubic area. I`ll be walking down the hallway and it will stop me and take my breath away. I wasn`t sure before but I`m thinking this is just a different feeling contraction. I`m hoping for a few more days - possibly another week or two to just make sure we are all fully recovered. I think I`m one of the only mom`s to hope for a late baby lol!

    Since I`m up and everyone else is sleeping here still I thought I`d post some pics...

    39 weeks pregnant with Hunter. My water broke a couple hours after taking this pic.

    38 weeks pregnant with this one (obviously this shirt happens to be a favorite maternity shirt of mine lol)

    Conni you are gorgeous! I can see why that's your favorite shirt, it's so pretty and looks comfy too! I'm sorry you are sick, sending {{{{{{{{{healing vibes}}}}}}}}}

    I too get so frustrated with people who go out sick. Coughing and hacking all over the place! It's so inconsiderate! I can understand if they HAVE to go do something and have no choice, but places like resteraunts and the movies. NO EXCUSE!! And to take sick kids to the park or to play areas makes me fume too! If I see a coughing/snotty kid at a play area, I always take Aless and leave. My dd is 19 months and has only had a runny nose twice in her life (never a cough or sickness, thank GOODNESS!! knock on wood) and I happen to like it that way! LOL!

    Thank you Cindy and Leigh - you girls are sweet.

    My mom came and picked up Hunter this morning. I cried but it's been nice to be able to rest this afternoon. Haven't slept as much as I wanted to but at least both DH and I can lay down without worrying about him. Hunter was pretty upset about leaving though which made me more emotional. I just want to get this all over with and have my family all back together ya know? But I don't want to be sick when I have the baby either so I know there will be a few more nights of us being split apart - now and when then again I actually go into labour. I just hoped to enjoy this time with Hunter before the baby came and I kind of feel ripped off that I've been too sick to. Well I guess I'll take advantage of this quiet house and head back to bed. Thanks for the healing vibes!

    I know how you feel. My MIL has been watching Alessandra some afternoons, and at first I cried, I missed her so much. But I quickly found things to do to occupy my time In your case, you need to sleep sleep sleep!! I'm hoping this rest will help you recuperate faster!

    Definitely starting to feel better! Fever is completely gone - only thing left is a hacking cough. The reason I know I'm feeling better is that I'm starting to feel antsy about having the baby again lol. The only problem is that I'm pretty sure I've torn or pulled a muscle in my upper ab. Every time I cough it's excruciating pain and I have to double up and hold the area.

    My parents have kept Hunter now for the last two nights. It's been great but I'm starting to miss him and apparently he's not feeling so great himself (shoot I was hoping he could avoid this). Getting him back and forth is such a pain because we live 45 minutes away from my parents so I admit I kind of hoped to go into labour while he was with them. But I think that we'll have to pick him up today regardless.
