I'm sorry about the false alarm. It can't be much longer now. Have fun listening to your daughter sing! How fun!

My doula always said, "there is no such thing as false labor...just early labor!" So, if you look at it that way...you've already started your journey!

You ladies always help me feel better, thanks.
Well, I am so glad I could go with DH and the kids tonight, (Tacoma Rainiers, for Kristen, who asked...) because my DD really needed me there. It turned out that they tarped the field due to rain which started shortly after we arrived, and it was kind of an emotional roller coaster for her. She had been looking forward to this event all school year. Then after waiting about 45 min. they rolled up the tarp and let them out there to sing and it just downpoured. She had an umbrella but was so freezing and her shoulder hurt from being all tensed up. She was almost in tears as soon as she saw me as they walked off the field. They did a great job, but as the mommy I was glad to be right there for her. We ended up leaving because she was so miserable plus they tarped the field again. It was just pouring. It was also funny in a way because the seats we had, we were surrounded by all the neighbors on our street (school nite), but literally our front, side, and behind people were all neighbors. And they were all like, WHy are you HERE??? And what do I say? Just, well, because I can be, I guess! So then we went home and had hot chocolate and hot baths.

My sister keeps calling my mom "to see if I had the baby yet" which is kind of funny to me. She and I have a dysfunctional relationship, to put it bluntly, so I don't have to worry about taking those calls, because she just calls my mom's cell phone. She has never spoken to me about any of my pg's. Yet she claims to "love" my children...anyways, I have completely gotten off on a super-tangent. My IL's have been SO good and only called twice this week.

Now, with the weekend coming up when I normally see lots of people...this may be the hard part as far as answering the question...you are still pg? I think we may be 90% sure of a name...but we have been known to change our minds after seeing the baby.

I am just so excited that Drake had her sweet baby, now, and i am really happy for them! She has been the ultimate example of patience!! This weekend would be a perfect time for a birthday. I guess he's just not ready. I am really getting used to being this shape. haha. I really do love feeling him squirm around. That's usually the thing I miss most about being pg. Suddenly I am empty and when I am alone I am really alone. Thank goodness for nursing! I can just smell his sweet head right now!

I am so sorry for all the rain last night. Poor DD, good thing she had you there to support her.

Ok your last few sentences have me in tears. That is the perfect way to explain how it feels after they are born and you miss having your LO in there. Enjoy feeling your little guy squirm around in there for these last few moments!

I also loved what you said about how you will miss being pregnant. I always really love feeling a baby moving--I always say it's the weirdest and yet the coolest feeling in the world. I think it's unfortunate that so many people focus so much on wanting pregnancy to be over that they don't appreciate the good parts about it while it lasts.

Sorry about the rain the other night.

What you said about not feeling the baby and feeling empty is exactly one of the things I told my DH that I am sure I will miss - this is my first baby and I'm not sure, but I know how much I love feeling her wiggle around in there.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and just ignore the people who try to give you hard time!

I know just what you mean about missing feeling the baby move. I was so impatient to have Audrey, I never even thought about it when I was pregnant. But then after I had her, I remember sitting in the bath and just sobbing because I missed it so much (gotta love those pp hormones).

I hope you're doing well this morning

Yes, I am feeling really good. I am not at all miserable, although it seems as though that is what is expected.
I have to tell you something about the OB that I left at 27 weeks or so...practically everyone I know goes to this OB, I mean, everyone...and so when I left my first OB of course I thought I should try him. It didn't work out because he was getting on my case about GD, which I have never had and don't even show signs of, except for failing the 1 hr glucose test (never failed a 3 hr and I hardly gain any wt while pg)...ok, so I was thinking he is trying to find a reason to eventually induce me. And I just knew that when it came time for the end of pg tests and prodding, etc, he and I would just really clash, not to mention the birth process...
SO...yesterday I was talking with another lady who is due June 6th and has this OB...and...he is inducing her this Friday at 39 weeks for convenience reasons.!!!! I had to just clamp my mouth shut. She told me she was dialted and effaced, so the nicest thing I could think to say was that since her body is starting hopefully she won't have any problems. This is her 4th but I don't think she has ever been induced before. I REALLY do not want to judge her reason for being induced because to a LOT of people it would make "perfect sense" and really be no big deal. Where I am headed with this is that this just proves to ME what kind of OB he is. Sheesh am I glad I switched!!!!

Good think you switched and went with your gut feeling about this guy! Your poor friend.

I'm glad you're not with that OB! Especially since you are past 40 weeks now. It's so hard to know what to say when women talk about their induction date being set.
