Welcome to your lodge!!
Welcome to your lodge! I can't wait to read about you.
Welcome!!
Hi Everyone - this is when I can find time to post. It is 2am and I cannot sleep! So here is a little into on me. DH and I met online in 1993 (he was 19 and I was 17 - we were talking about 90210). We dated on and off because we were both so young and lived in different states, but we also became best friends. Over the course of our friendship, I went to college - graduated - moved to NYC and started working. After going on a couple of dates in NYC, and during the whole date thinking I could not wait to get home to talk to my BF (now DH). I knew that was it - he had to marry me. So he came to visit me and I told him that. I told him to call my dad and get me a ring!! We got married in 2000 and finally moved to the same state!! I fell even more in love with him and we both kept putting off kids. We were both very scared. We got into rock climbing and so I was always planning our next great adventure. I was always outside doing something - climbing, mountain biking, adventure racing, just something. At the end of Oct in 05 we went climbing and camping in Red Rocks, NV. The whole time we were there I had the worst gas. Like just constant bubbles in my stomach. When I got home Nov 1 I was on the internet looking for what could be causing it and the first thing google came back with was pregnancy - I looked at a calendar and was like "Oh Crap - DH we gotta go to walmart and get a pregnancy test" He would not believe me and was so mad when I made him go with me to walmart at 11pm to buy a pregnancy test. Well it was positive and that was the beginning! We were so surprised and excited. I did some research while pregnant and decided with a lot of support from church friends that I wanted to have a natural birth. My doctor was also very supportive. She just asked that I take a natural childbirthing class to be prepared. She suggested the bradley method classes. We took them and loved it. The pregnancy with DS was very uneventful. I was made to carry babies - for a quite a long time. At 10 days late I finally went into labor the day before I was scheduled to be induced. I went to the hospital but my contractions were slowing down and so I agreed to a pitocin, but no epidural. The pitocin was not so bad. But in the end my labor was 27 hours. I had not slept for 3 days and so I was so worn out I was hallucinating a little (from fatigue) so finally I cried threw in my towel and asked for the epidural. I felt so defeated, I was so sad about it I lost sight of the most important thing in birth. I had a healthy baby boy and I was also very healthy. So really it was not such a loss. He was born at 12:45 am. I had the epidural for on 45 minutes so I was actually about to walk about an hour after birth. He was 22 inches and 9lbs 14oz. I want to try for natural again. My doctor has been very encouraging and reassuring that second labors. I sure hope she is right!! This pregnancy has also been very uneventful. I feel like I am going to be late again and I am a little disappointed about that, but agaun. I just want the healthy baby part! This baby is also measuring big, but I had no problem with my last delivery and a big baby so I think I will be ok again. Thanks for listening this long. I will post some pics tomorrow.
