~Kristina~'s BIRTHING LODGE! (prenatal)

**Still here, but was "resting" most of the night, but definitely could feel some contractions. I never hit REM until early this morning. Woke up to loosing a glob of plug and my pelvis is killing me. I'm still contracting and nausous. I've already been nesting in the 20 minutes I've been awake! lol So I should have a nice clean house by noon.

I'm contracting about every 3 minutes, more intense when I walk. I told her about the nausea and heartburn and she said it was a sign of labor. I've been having some cervical pressure with the contractions and loosing some plug. I'm going to try to get some sleep in a little bit. Time will tell, I can't say for sure if this is it or not because I tend to have timeable contractions and then nothing else happens. So I'll just be hanging out!

I just noticed you're 36w1d. Should we start a lodge? I suppose a few days' wait won't hurt.

ELV incoming

I had a dream last night that you were having the baby in a very large shower - with a picture window for all of us to watch...it was quite disturbing! Although- you were very elegant during labor!

I've gained 40+ lbs...couldn't have been that elegant! ROFL Although the large shower and picture window does sound interesting!

I just got dressed and my belly is so LOW!! I have a nice plateau shelf happening now.

Well, my house is almost cleaned and my homebirth supplies are at arms reach. Laundry is almost finished and put away. I'm still contracting and they are much worse when I'm walking around. I can feel him pushing down on my...eh rectum... lol. I may go to the mall tonight and walk around some. My contractions were like this with Ashlyn. The hospital kept me up and walking around because I got the best contractions that way. Once I laid down, they would slow and not be as strong.

I slept so well last night, except waking up to pee a lot and my arms going numb. But today I feel great! I've had 1 contraction, baby is moving around a bit and I've already been cleaning. Kate and her back up will be coming over today and I'm wondering if she'll be checking me with all this excited the last couple days. I tried to check myself, but I've lost my cervix. lol I can't really find it anymore.

Okay, that's it, I made you a lodge. Part of me wonders if I should have since it seems like *this* thread is your lodge, but it's nice to have "Kristina's Lodge" on the title, I think. Smile

Aww thanks ladies!

Well for those that don't know me, I'm Kristina and preggers with #4. We'll be having our first homebirth. Kailey and Ashlyn's births were at a hospital. Kailey's was with pitocin but no pain meds. She was born at 39w4d and weighed 9lbs 6oz. Ashlyn's was with very little pitocin, I felt like I was stalling, but actually, I was transitioning. We turned it off after 5-10 minutes. Her labor was pain med free, she was 8lbs 10oz, born at 39w2d. Ayden's birth, we had everything in the book with an episiotomy and threatened c-section. He was 9lbs 5.5oz. That was my horrid induction.

I'm still waiting for my 36w appt with my midwife. We set a date and she's calls when she's leaving her previous appt. My contractions are more regular and stronger while I'm walking, but my ankle hurts, so I've been a bit lazy. I just got back from Target getting the kids their gifts from Dylan. Ayden and Kailey got that Dancing Xbox game and Ashlyn got a new Elmo phone.

Congrats on your lodge, Kristina! Can't believe it's finally our turn. Smile What are you doing to prepare for your homebirth? Will you use a birthing tub?

I've got the little fishy pool that we'll use, along with our hot tub for the early labor. I picked up peri pads/bottles, foot printers, and those types of things from www.inhishands.com and www.midwiferysupplies.com. Luckily I didn't have to buy too much, my midwife supplies almost everything.

Oh I should add that I was 1cm and 30% effaced at 34w. I'm hoping my midwife will check me while doing the GBS test!

Contractions are 6 minutes apart, starting to hurt a little since they are going into my back. Midwife is on her way for our appt, she was delivering a baby today. I'm hoping this is it, or it's going to be a long September!

Kristina, I can't believe you are 36 weeks! Incredible how fast the time flies. I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful homebirth like we had - it was just the best thing I've ever done.

Hopefully Dylan will either decide to make an appearance now or those contractions will stop and give you some rest. Have you been watching your hydration? (I would always get irritable uterus in summer if I did not have LOADS of water every day).

I cannot wait to meet your newest addition to the family Smile

My appt was great! Baby is great, bp, urine, all good! He is head down and no longer posterior!!! I'm a stretchy 2-3cm and 60-70% (but 40-50% inside) effaced. 2 weeks ago I was 1cm 30%. So these contractions ARE doing something. I'm contracting about 6 minutes apart at the moment. I've been instructed to get the birth pool blown up and ready to go. My m/w thinks Dylan is 6 1/2 to 7 1/2lbs. Dh and I are saying 7 1/2lbs. lol

Karen, you helped me so much with this decision. Thank you so much! Definitely keeping up with hydration, I hate water, but those Cyrstal Light singles has made it very easy to drink loads of water.

Oh and I'm not doing the GBS test because I never had it previously.

It's 5:25am and I was woken up with a contraction at 3:20am. They been regular and getting more painful. Dylan is much lower now and moving all around at the moment which is hurting so bad! I've have some TMI- loose BM's. I was going to clean some and get things ready, but I think I'm going to try to go back to bed.
