:wavehello: Welcome to your lodge!
Welcome to your lodge! It's so exciting to see all the August lodges, that means September is next!
Welcome to your lodge!! :)
Thanks girls!! I've never had a lodge before!! I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do! *blush* I guess you need somewhat of an intro eh? :-)
I'm 26 and DH is 27. We celebrate 7 years of blissful marriage next month. He's the best father and husband a girl could ask for....VERY involved with the children!! We were pregnant right away after we got married and miscarried at 6 weeks....decided to try again the next year and miscarried after 3 months. We were advised to wait a year before trying again....we waited 2. I had a burst appendix as a kid and my Dad was informed by the Doctor that I'd likely NEVER be able to conceive. Thankfully God is in control and the Doctor was wrong...it's been a hole in one every time.
3 years into our marriage we conceived our first son. He was born 35weeks 5 days later on our bathroom floor after 7 hours of labor. He arrived a healthy 7lbs 5oz with a 13 3/4 inch head. He was obviously early as his feet had no footprints and his ears weren't curled :-) We realized after that first birthing experience that a home birth was the BEST decision we could have ever made in regards to the birthing of our children.
10 months later I found out we were expecting our #2. Also a son, he was born at 36 1/2 weeks on our bedroom floor weighing in at a hefty 7lbs 7oz with a 14 inch head after about 2 hours of labor. (I prefer longer labors...the shorter the more painful!) He just turned 18 months and is such a hoot!
Here we are less than a week away from 36 weeks with this one! We went to a private u/s place in Feb. to find out that we are expecting our first daughter! I'm excited more and more the closer it gets. I've already had a lovely shower and am up to my EARS in "pink" It's been a much more tough pregnancy this time around and to be honest, I'm VERY eager for this to be over...I was stressing over the birth up until now, but now that I'm so uncomfortable (my hips especially!) I'm ready to say who cares about the pain...bring it on with this baby in tow! :-) I need labor vibes for this weekend girls!!! I see my midwife on Friday and am eager to see what kind of progress I've made! :-) Around that time with my #2 I was 2-4 cm and 90% effaced....and yeah, I delivered him that night :-)
So, that's what I've got for now for an intro! :-) Thank you for giving me a lodge and be sure to tell me what I'm supposed to do!! :-)
Welcome to your lodge! I'm looking forward to following your journey. Yay for pink, eh? :D
How did y'all come to the decision to have a home birth with your first?
That's a REALLY good question! LOL. Would you believe I was actually considering an elective c-section (had a doc for the first 4 months of my pregnancy with our 1st) since I'd had surgery TWICE with the whole burst appendix thing. Somehow we went from THAT....to switching to a home birth midwife at 4 months pregnant! (I think I was afraid of the pain and surgery was second nature to me....) My parents were SO supportive and thrilled (my mom had all three of us in a hospital but completely drug-free/natural) We were really at peace with the whole idea and it went SO well! Now, I'd like to NEVER find myself in a hospital EVER to birth! :-)
Welcome to your lodge!! Your previous births sound amazing I hope this one goes just as smoothly!
Welcome to your lodge! It sounds like your about ready to add this little girl to your family. It's going to be fun to see how she works her way into the home:) My second and third labors were much the same, I hope your third labor is easier for you then your second! Do you have a "birth room" picked out? Do you have pictures of your DS1's foot print, I don't think I've seen one like your describeing? Hope this weekend holds some excitement for you!
