I am late on your lodge, but welcome!

I am glad that you are doing so well, despited the sciatica, did you end up going to a chiro, or has the pain jsut mostly gone away on its own?

there was just a short thread on ear infections on here and I posted my mom's remedy that always worked for us (I still use it to this day!).

Here is what I posted. Hope it helps!:

"When I was little I had one terrible ear infection that I got antibiotics for - it was terrible! After that my mom started treating them with salt water rinses, garlic oil and echinecia. they never came back!

make up a salt water solution that is warm and salty to taste. rinse the ear with it (I usually just pour some in) and massage around the ear. put a towel up against it and lean the head over to drain it well. It feels very nice and takes away the pain. the salt changes the ph of the ear to make it inhospitable to the infection and draws it out. if the lo will do it gargling with the salt water is good too cause it hits the ear from the other side.

put a bit of garlic oil on a q-tip and gently and carefully apply it to the inside of the sore ear. give a capsul orally too. also give some echinacea orally as well.

This can be done for a couple days and should clear it up.

BTW the salt water rinse also works on eye infections."

Oh man, that sounds like a big play date. I hope it wasn't too hot where you are for all the kids and you and the BF...especially with both expecting. Glad the sciatica is subsiding. I've been taking 2 tylonol at night and going to bed early to try to ease it.

Fuchsia- thanks for the tip about the ear infections. I'll jot it down and give it a try. I really don't like her being on antibiotics.
