Sounds like a busy weekend! It breaks my heart to imagaine dealing with a loss, I don't know how you do it. I hope your able to take a bit and work through some of your thoughs before the baby is born. I would imagaine it adds a certain bit of stress to this pregnancy for you. Your going to be a worderfull mama again soon, and my thoughts and prayers will certainly be with you through all of it.

I'll have to remember what you did for the belly cast. I'm glad it worked out well for you this time.

That's wonderful that you and dh have such an open relationship to help each other out during your down times. You both are so lucky to have each other!

Can't wait to see pics of your belly cast!! How fun to be able to compare your belly with each pregnancy!

I'm glad you and DH were able to talk. Sounds like you both needed it the other night.

And I'd love to see pics of the belly cast!

Well, we had our MW appointment today. It was completely uneventful... gained another 2lbs since 2 weeks ago (now 194)... which I guess is up 21lbs from pre-preg...

My MW cheers whenever I gain weight... measure at 35.5cm - right on target... pee test negative...

Other than that, I was informed by DSS that his mom is thinking about getting him a small dog - because she's allergic to big dogs and because it would be good to learn responsibility... Last year at this time it was that she and her boyfriend were going to get him a husky... I just want to put on the record that that's about the worst reason to get a dog, and I REFUSE to take someone else's problem dog if DSS ever decides to move in with us... or during the weeks that DSS is at our house... or if she's on holiday... and who's going to train it (if she knows what that means)... certainly not a 10yo who can't remember to take his own medication and isn't responsible enough to stay home alone for ANY period of time (according to her)... and buying a pet (that lives 10-15 years) is certainly not a way to teach responsibility IMO... GRRRRRR....

I forgot to say that yesterday, my MW cleared us for a home birth starting Sunday (April 5). I hope Baby 2 stays in longer because that would only be 36 weeks!!!

I declined the Strep B test, figuring that I wouldn’t allow intravenous antibiotics anyway during labour, and that my last labour was so fast (2.5 hours) that it wouldn’t have had any effect anyway.

Lastly, DH is betting that Baby2 is born on the 17th, and so our next MW appointment will be on the 16th! I hope he’s right! I just want Baby to be born by before the 22nd… That’s DSS’s birthday

Hi Sarah, I know I'm late here, but Welcome to your lodge!!! I look forward to following you through Baby2's arrival! I actually live only a few blocks from you (50 St & 34 Ave) and I have my own little Reid (spelled different than yours) who came along around the same time that your Reed passed. I'm not sure this is the right forum but I want to pass on my condolenses and prayers.

I'm glad your MW appointment went well. Looking at our weather these days, I'd say you'd better plan on having an indoor tub ready, it's plenty chilly to be thinking of an outdoor water birth (BRRR! Especially at night time!! )

At Grey Nuns. I was optimistic that I could have a natural birth there, and I did with DS2, but in the end I had to really fight for it. I was induced due to low amniotic fluid at 41w6d, which I resisted but eventually consented to cervidil. Then, after I was in active labour, even though I had been very clear I wanted a natural birth, the doctors and nurses continued to talk about epidurals and AROM! Luckily labour was pretty quick, but I think if I'd had a long labour, they'd have put more pressure on, and I don't know if I'd have been able to hold out. Sorry, not meaning to hyjack here, I guess my point is that I think ncb in a hospital setting can be difficult, and is more supported at home, so I think a home birth is a good choice!

ETA: Both my boys were born at Grey Nuns, and DS1 birth was filled with intervention and complications. That's a whole other story though.
