Sounds like you guys are going through a lot right now. I hope that at least the XW will bugger off. Darn that lady...

It does sound like you are going through a lot, but sounds like you and DH are exactly what each other needs to get ready for this baby. Glad you got a restful, yet productive day. I know I feel tons better with what little progress I get done towards preparation for this baby. I love the name Leo! I also think your DH's idea is really sweet too. Im sure this baby will learn exactly who and how loved his big brother was and will feel blessed to be named after him.

I am sorry, stress during this time sucks and for some reason it seems like everyone is piling it on right now. I think that it's nice that you and your DH are so close and that it's a good time to put the other person first and try to put yourself in their place. Then everyone can be happy.

I like the tribute to Reed and I don't think it would be a bad thing for a child to be named after a passed sibling. I also like your mom's suggestions though too. You guys will find something that fits and is appropriate.

I have been waiting to see your lodge and then I got busy and now I am late. Sounds like your emotions are on a bit of a roller coaster - you and DH seem to have it under control though That XW is such a pain too -did she get the dog? Hope things go a little smoother for you next week and that the weather co-operates for an outdoor hot tub birth.

That is the best name for Walmart I have ever heard.

I like the name Leo as well, or alternately, have you thought about re-using Aslan as a middle name? That way you still have the connection to Reed, but without the baby thinking he didn't get his own name.

Finally getting caught up here. Big hugs, sorry you have so much stress right now.

As for the BFing (which you wrote about a bit ago) I think you will have an easy time this time around, especially if you did with Reed. After all, with Baby #2 only one of you has to learn

WARNING VENT!!! (sorry it seems I’ve only been venting so I’ll make this post separate from the other good news one)

Hey guys… I took the long weekend off the computer – and it was good. – except for everyone freaking out on Saturday night… DSS (almost 10yo) wasn’t feeling well and has been acting very needy (I need to sleep in your bed because I have nightmares, because I don’t feel well, because I’m scared of the Easter bunny, the Easter Bunny didn’t come, because my mom sleeps with me at her house, I’m scared of the dark, etc…)

Then I wasn’t feeling great, so I tried to get to bed early on Saturday night (8:30pm) – but got woken up every 20 minutes until 10pm at which point I decided there was no hope and got up and played cards with DH for a couple hours. Then I went to bed again at midnight, woke up again at 1am, DH woke me up at 2pm when going to bed, then we realized no one had hidden and Easter eggs, so he got up again and did an extravagant carrot peeling mess, and hid some Easter stuff in the sunroom and outside doghouse. He then came to bed at 3am… And then DSS woke up and woke us up at 4am, we told him to go back to bed. And then DSS came back at 4:30, and $:50 all upset because he looked and didn’t find any Easter eggs (at 4:50AM!), Dh couldn’t deal with it any more and told him to crawl into bed with us (DSS was coughing and had a headache). At this point I was annoyed and got up and went downstairs and read a book for a couple hours, (hey – good idea, kid is sick, let’s have him crawl in bed with me and my pregnant wife so that she can get sick for the delivery! Good idea!). Then DH gave DSS some cough syrup, a Tylenol, and a hot bath… and the bathtub is right next to our bedroom and the pipes are super loud so I can’t sleep anyway when the bath is running. I finally fell asleep again at about 6:30am on the couch, and DSS woke me up again at 7:15 because he was upset because “The Easter Bunny Didn’t Come”…

I gave up sleeping again, and at this point really couldn’t care less if the Easter Bunny came or not! I gave DSS a hint about where to find an aster egg (just to shut him up), and he looked briefly 2 times, gave up, and then called his mom to ask if the Easter Bunny came to her house because he obviously didn’t come to our house ! (conveniently ignoring the fact that there were carrot peels leading to the back door, and out to the doghouse where there was a whole bunch of stuff hidden ) Considering the dynamics between DH and his XW, I’m just waiting to see what comes out of that!!!!

And then DSS found a giant Easter egg (the one I’d been giving him clues for) and a basket of goodies (super ball, game books, scorpion puzzle/model kit, and a couple other things, etc…) to which DSS said “I only got this”

Meanwhile DH decided that he was sleeping until 10am because he got no sleep last night…

    YARGH!!!!

Did I mention that 2 hours later (after breakfast), his buddy who lives down the street showed up and we hid Easter eggs for each other and then searched for them, and played with his new skipping rope, and super ball, and he said that “this is the best Easter ever!”

Oh, that sucks! My mom would have skinned my hide had I said "this is it?" And the Easter bunny would have never come back to such an ungrateful little girl.

However, I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the carrot peelings idea. That is so cool. Just might have to incorporate that into our tradition when DS gets old enough to understand that, if you don't mind.

Here's hoping you can get some rest now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday weekend is over.
