No more work, birthing pool is in, you can feel the head... Sounds like you're almost there! Hey, I'm impressed you could check yourself

Mommy to3girls, I believe DD said all the wires were black, which was very confusing. Sounds like a home electrical job was done throughout the house with different parts of the same room on different circuits. I hope they have it figured out....!

The bedroom has a large lit closet, an en suite (small) bathroom and a ceiling fan as well as the light.

I managed to figure out the bathroom... but every wire was black! Even the ground!

As for the bedroom, we have a ceiling fan/light - which is on a dimmer. BUT since it only has one on off switch it means the whole shebang goes with the one dimmer switch - the lights AND the fan!

So we thought it may be intelligent to put in a switch that can separate the fan and lights. That way we could have the fan stay on high, and the lights off (in hot summer - no air conditionning). Unfortunately, there's only, again, three black wires in the socket... I can tell which is which because of where they are attached on the current (dead) switch, but that means (to me) that whoever installed the fan/light didn't wire it completely to the light switch... And to do so would likely require removing some ceiling/wall to do it properly (Boy do I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it).

There are dangling cords to change the speed and direction of the fan, but they are (of course) smack in the middle of the bed and a pain in the butt to get to - especially if someone is already asleep! It would just be nice if we could separate the fan and lights...

I really think we need to find someone who knows something about wiring to try to deal with this, but I hope yo ucan tell me otherwise!

Well, today is April 17, and I was hoping that Baby 2 would come today, just because it's the 17th and that was Reed's birthday (well, of June), and the same gestation as he would have had... I'm kindof down on that, after all, it's after noon and no labour...

Other than that, DH quit smoking 2.5 days ago and is rather cranky, stressed, and irritable. He was told yesterday that he has to drive down to Calgary (3hr away) next wednesday (DSS's birthday).

In good news, my parents are coming next Tuesday/Wednesday! I hope baby decides to show up before that, but we'll just have to wait and see. I know I should be feeling more relaxed, after all my due date isn't until May 3 technically, but with Reed coming so early, I feel like today should be my due date!

I do have a midwife appointment (here at home) today at 2pm, though...

We have the birthing pool (though the weather has been great and so is the forecast so I hesitate to actually put it together)...

Hi Sarah! I just read through your lodge...
So baby is still all comfy and happy in there, huh?
Hopefully soon! I understand about the "blackout" dates- have a few here too, but the babies come when they feel like it! LOL

Maybe Litlle Baby2 wants it to be nice and warm for him/her?

Glad to have your lodge to read. Hugs hon!

I can so relate to the "well, my first came so early" mindset. And here I am 3 wks later. Ugh. That's probably the worst part of still being pregnant for me: I just wasn't mentally prepared to go this long.

I am glad you are still preggo. I feel as though I'll be all alone soon; may have to jump ship to May so I can be "early"!

I hope that your birth goes as smoothly as your last. Feeling the head already! So exciting!

I hope it happens soon! Although I remember how disappointed 'bug was that she missed it last time, so I hope she makes it this time

I just had my home visit. We walked around and I showed her where the supplies were, and where I tought that I'd have the birth (hottub/sunroom if warm out, fireplace room if not). I don't know what my BP was, but it wasn't worth talking about... Baby's heartbeat was good (144).

She asked if I had any intuition as to whether baby was a boy or girl. I had to admit that last time I was completely off (I was positive it was a girl). This time I feel like I did last time, so going by that, it should be a boy, right? DH says that therefore it must be a girl!

Anyway, the MW feels that baby will likely be here within the week. We'll see.

Glad you had a nice home visit-- mine is next week and I've got lots to do to get ready .

Sorry that this bean is staying put-- I can only imagine how frustrating that must be to gestate longer than your previous pg....luckily mine have gotten a wee bit shorter (still all going past 40 wks....so anything before that would shock me!)

GL with dh and his nicotine withdrawals-- that would be really hard!
