Hey Sarah - I wish I had better news but DH can't help without actually being there to test the wires. He thinks you can have them seperate depending on if you can access the ceiling fan through an attack so that you don't have to go through the walls and ceiling. Sorry he couldn't be of more help.

Glad to hear that things are going well and that you are all done work now.

    Smile

Well today has been a great day (despite me being exhausted right now).

We stayed up late last night, and then decided that we should change the water in the hot tub in case it needed to be used today - so it would have time to heat up overnight. That was at 2am! (We don't have enough hot water in the hot water tank to fill up the birthing pool, but if I decide to use the birthing pool instead of the hot tub, we can fill it from the hot tub and it would be the right temperature).

Then DH and I went to bed (DSS is at his mom's starting last night). I woke up at about 7am, and was awake for an hour, feeling tired but not able to sleep. I kept feeling very crampy and uncomfortable. I finally got up and crawled in to the other side of the bed (DH was conveniently lying smack in the middle!), and managed to fall soundly asleep for another 1.5 hours! What a nice surprise!

DH and I then got up (around 10am), after wrestling with Indy on the bed for a while. We had some cantaloupe, then went in the hot tub for a while. After that, DH made some breakfast (bacon and egg and toast), and then we went to the farmer's market. After that, we checked out DH's favourite store (that sells SE asian furniture/clothes/ and stuff). After that we checked out Home Depot and got a piece to fix the hose (to transfer water from the hot tub to birthing pool). Then we checked out a few wood stores for some hardwood flooring (for DH's mom's house) and DH bought a 7' piece of walnut (DH wants to make a Bao game). Then we came home and ate some lunch (at 4:30pm).

It's been a long time since DH and I have had an afternoon that we've just wandered around and relaxed. It was very good for both of us, not to mention great to reconnect in that way - we've just had so much stress lately that it was wonderful! I don't think either of us even thought about anything stressful the entire day!

Then I took a nap with Indy...

All those cramps went away this morning and never came back. That's OK, though. It's more comfortable without them, even if they are doing something! I'm feeling much better about being prepared for Baby2. The rugs could still use some vacuuming, and Reed's room hasn't been cleaned up yet, but everything else is organized (I think).

I think DH is feeling better too. He has hardly been cranky at all today. In fact, he's been in quite a good mood (surprising for someone who quite smoking cold turkey 4 days ago). I'm sure he's feeling a little anxious, but he's got his project that he's working on so I think that's helping him. Plus, DSS was a royal PITA last week and I think that DH is happy to have a reprieve from that (as terrible as it sounds, there is a silver lining to only having your kid half the time!).

All in all, it's a good thing Baby2 decided to stay in for today, other than DH and I got to send a relaxing day together. My MW was recertifying her CPR this morning, and involved in a VBAC awareness conference this afternoon - neither of which she wanted to miss. She asked me (as a joke) if I would mind scheduling the birth for Tuesday! Sunday she had some family engagement, and Monday she has a whole bunch of appointments! Of course, she was completely joking! After all, the reason my appointment was on Friday was because one of her other moms went into labour on Thursday evening (her water broke in Babies R' Us!), only 4 hours after her appointment! My MW is also really tired because she's had 9 births since the beginning of April! She only takes 3 moms/month, but all her March moms went late, her April moms were on time, 2 of her May moms went early (I'm the last), and she covered one for a MW friend who went on holiday! Busy lady! I can't see how she does it! And she never seems to be in a hurry, always seems calm and relaxed (even when she's concerned about something), and rarely has to reschedule any appointments! Amazing! Oh, and in that time she also had all her MW stuff stolen out of her car and had to get it replaced!

    Hooray for relaxing days!

Your day sounds like a dream! I haven't had a day like that in a long time. My MW said Tuesday too, maybe we'll have LOs that share birthdays? Glad you got some rest!
