Holy Crap! I totally was NOT expecting to see this when I came on to this board! Lol

Thanks guys.

I'm in such a sour mood today.

I started labor-like contractions yesterday, felt much like the prodromal labor I'd gone through with both my boys. Constant, AF type cramping with frequent contractions coming about every 8 minutes, lasting an average of 1 minute each, varying in intensity and this lasted for an hour before I called my doc. I was pretty certain it was just the prodromal labor starting.. but considering I wasn't quite 36 weeks (am today, though)....

She had me come into her office for a check. The litmus paper said I was not leaking amniotic fluid (I wasn't sure due to it being a hot day and I was sweating a bit down there). She then checked my cervix for progress. On Friday the 22nd I was a fingertip dilated, about 75% long and VERY soft. Yesterday I was 1cm, about the same length, and still VERY soft.

She then told me that she wants me to not deliver until 37 weeks at least, so she put me on "Please can you wait a week" rest.

I came home from the appointment excited and frustrated and feeling rather rebellious.

I had a decent "wack-out" moment last night at bed time and forced myself to listen to my hypnobirthing hypnosis track to try and relax myself to sleep. I continued to have contractions, but they slowed to about every 20 minutes or so and I was able to sleep through most of them. I woke up around 2am having to pee like crazy and had a couple of contractions. I was then WIDE awake and took a bowl of cereal into the nursery and sat in the glider rocker and had a little, quiet pep talk with the baby.

So as not to disturb my hubby (who still thinks we're gonna make it to September) I went back to bed after a short while and laid there unable to sleep.

I woke up rather disappointed and kinda sad. I've been too "bummed" to even make coffee. I've totally got a "what's the point" attitude towards my being on "rest" this week and I'd LOVE to just go crazy with cleaning, but I'm trying to be a good girl and not do much like my doc asked.

One of the things DH said last night while I was trying not to explode was "if we can't go on your birthday date this weekend, it's not my fault". AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!

I have just a plethora of emotions raging through my body right now. Someone please take my kids so I can deal with them and move on!

Welcome to your lodge! It is crazy to me that someone on MY BB has a lodge! Are we really that close??

I hope the contractions pipe down for you. I know how annoying those long, drawn out, early contrax can be.

Well, I'm fairly crampish today, and can bring on a very MILD contraction by sitting just right. Last night baby was pinching on something or pushing on something that was hitting my urethra cause it felt like I had a UTI but it was randomly occurring pain, similar to sciatic, but in my urethra instead of down the back of my leg. I laid more on my back for about 10 minutes, then baby started adjusting and pain went away. Phew.

This morning DH called to have me check up on my Grandpa after DH received a distrubing text message from him. The text message read "Please call 911, I need help." First of all, my grandpa doesn't even KNOW what a text message is, let alone how to send one. We assumed it was that he pushed a button that sent it to his emergency contact? and for some reason DH is his emergency contact? We are utterly confused by this. DH called my dad first to have HIM check in on him, but didn't get through and called me. Before I could hang up with DH, my dad called him back.

So we are not sure about the text message, but grandpa is in the hospital again (obviously arrived BEFORE the text message got sent.. not sure how long he's been there). He's been in and out of the hospital all year long and I think this is for the same thing that they still don't have any known causes for it and not sure how to treat it and.... He's old, I think it's just that and they keep prolonging his life and....

I'm not feeling stressed over it cause it's happened A LOT in the last 12 months. But I'm praying that I don't have to try to deal with a potential death and funeral while trying to bring our new LO into the world.

Grandpa lives 4 hours away and my dad lives here in the same town as us and is, at this point in time, unable to travel to him due to lack of money and a busy schedule.

I may be calling a young gal from our church to watch the boys Saturday night for my birthday outing cause as it is, my Dad is set to watch them.

Not stressing..... not stressing... deep breath... deep breath.... in and out... in and out...

I know how you feel with your Grandpa being in and out of the hospital and sometimes wondering if it's really the best thing. I'm praying for you guys. My grandfather was in the hospital when DD was born in '08 and I couldn't even visit him cuz he got chicken pox for the first time in his life in the cardiac ICU! and my grandmother (his wife) passed away 2 weeks before DS2 was born 2 years ago. If you need support or anything, please pm me. I really know how you feel.

I hope you get to relax and enjoy your birthday!

I've scheduled an appointment with a chiropractor for Monday after noon.

My mom works for a chiro here in town, but he's a bit outdated and the last few times I went and saw him (well over a month ago) I came home and had contractions for a couple of hours, so I haven't been to him concerned that he might be doing something wrong and I didn't want to be having contractions yet. Lol

The chiro I'm seeing on Monday is a different chiro here in town, and one of my good friends works for him. They said they can see me Friday, but I asked for Monday so that I'm that much closer to term in case it does kick in really good contractions, that way I can still go to my birthday date Saturday night.

I feel so sneaky going to someone other than our family chiro (the one my mom works for) but I gotta get my spine in alignment for delivery, my sciatic is just killing me, especially since LO dropped.

Thank you. So far, it's uncertain as to what is going on. My dad is not overly concerned about it being anything too horrible. So I'm gonna not stress and just let Dad share what he wants to share when he wants to share it.

We lost my step dad when I was about this far along in my first pregnancy and my family wasn't going to tell me cause they were worried it would start labor. They meant well, but I found out anyways and it made me real bitter for a while. Oh, and it didn't start labor, either.

Well, they "think" grandpa is aspirating food, so he's on a thick liquid diet for now. Emotionally I'm okay right now. I accepted his death and was ready to say goodbye last year when he crashed multiple times due to heavy internal bleeding around his kidneys... for him to be so damned stubborn and still be alive today is ... well ... I guess a miracle.

Right now he's doing okay, they are treating the infection that was from food aspiration (or so they say) and they've put him on the thick liquid diet. He'll likely be in the hospital for a while still. He has dialysis 3 days out of the week when he's NOT in the hospital, so they need to make sure that this wont affect his treatments and whatnot.

Anyway, back to happy thoughts....... omm... Wink

Thanks ladies.

Well, last night I didn't sleep well at all. I kept waking up with tingly limbs. I suffered from a little bit of RLS and insomnia before I FINALLY fell asleep about 11 o'clock, and then I woke up at 12:30 having to pee and dealt with more RLS and insomnia.

Then, of course, as soon as I started moving around this morning (a lot earlier than I'd like due to a stinky 2 year old--literally) I started with stomach soreness. It's kinda like a constant ache or cramps. Not sure if I wanna throw up or not. I've passed a little gas here and there, burped and even had a bm and the issue is not resolving itself. It's at the top of my uterus, but behind it (towards my back but not IN my back). If you were to slice me vertically, separating my front from my back, it'd be RIGHT in the center. It's very frustrating.

I see my OB in an hour, hopefully she can give me some insight as to how to combat it. It's not painful, but it's definitely NOT conductive of the small list of errands I need to run. I just want to lay in fetal position on the couch all day instead.

Oh, and yesterday about an hour before we had dinner, I got very weak very suddenly. It wasn't like a lightheaded or I must sleep now type of weakness, either. It was like doing ANYTHING took way too much energy.

I'm hoping that my possible myasthenia gravis isn't kicking in. But I fear it feels like it is.

I probably just need a more productive sleep and was hoping I'd get it last night.

Oh, it just dawned on me that it happened shortly after eating a HUGE handful of walnuts... very rich source of Magnesium (which can aggravate MG). No more walnuts for me. Back to bananas for my potassium. Lol

Well, I didn't ask for a check cause my contrax have been minimum since I went in on Monday. Plus I was feeling like taking my pants off would be too much effort.

Baby was fine, I'm measuring great. I didn't pay attention to my weight but everything was perfect (BP, etc.) and she said that my urine was the most hydrated she's seen all day. Yahoo

But in other news, I came back from my appointment to find out that while Grandpa is still doing alright, he's not made much progress and now his wife has been admitted to the same hospital (brought in by ambulance) and is in a different wing. She had a stroke. They are running tests to determine the level of stroke. She is speaking, but is having slight difficulty and has left sided paralysis.

I told my dad not to worry about us and that his being up there for them if need be is more necessary than him being here for the baby's birth if it were to come down to it. Not that he's not wanted or needed, but priority should be there and not here. I got one of the former youth group girls from our church (she's 20 now) to watch the boys tomorrow night so Dad doesn't have to worry about it and DH can still take me to my birthday theater trip (gonna see Carousel.. my older sis is playing Carrie), and I called one of my fellow busy mom friends to make sure she'd be willing to be my fall-back girl if I'm in labor before he or my mom gets back (she's out of town for other reasons).

I had a brief little cry with her on the phone.. brief cause the boys don't allow me to talk on the phone very long. *sigh*

Oh the joys of being a mother, right?

I splurged and got myself a mt.dew (slap me if you wish, I deserve it) and I made an appointment to get my hair done on my birthday (Sunday) and I'm trying to focus on me this weekend.

I'll cry if I feel like crying and I'll laugh if I feel like laughing. I know all will be good in the end, "to everything there is a season" and I know that we are all in God's hands. It's important to me to have the happy peaceful birth that I've been dreaming about and I'm determined to not think about my grandparents if that's what it takes.

Deep breath in.....

Thank you all for being here for me and praying for my family. I might not be on much this weekend, just know I'm still here and I'm remembering to breathe. :bigarmhug:

Awe, thanks you guys!

So quick update on my g-parents. My gpa has been released into the care of a nursing facility and arrived yesterday afternoon. He's already complaining about the food, but that's partially because they have to put thickeners in his milk and water. His wife's son (they married after my grandma passed away 13 years ago) is trying to get her to go into the same facility when she is released.

Okay, on to the happy birthday weekend news. Smile

Saturday I cleaned my house top to bottom and I do mean that. DH was very impressed. I even dusted (something I RARELY do). Saturday night we went out to dinner and then saw my sister in the local theater's production of Carousel (she played Carrie for you enthusiasts). I contracted mildly throughout the show due to lack of leg room and uncomfortable seats. We came home and went almost straight to bed. We were both so tired.

Sunday morning (my actual birthday) Brad sent the boys into my room with a bouquet of flowers. :giveflower:

We went to church just in time to finish off the brunch items (forgot they were doing a brunch before church) and then before the service started EVERYONE sang happy birthday to me. :bwush: Throughout church I had major hot flashes where my face was suddenly really hot but the rest of me was fine. I actually had to step out for the last 10 minutes of service it got so bad.

After church we came back home and had a quiet lunch as a family and then I took off for my "ME" time. I was gone 6 hours!! Yahoo I went and had my hair trimmed and styled, then I went for a pedicure, then I went to 4 different stores in search of a pair of sandals to show off my newly cute toes. Then I went and stole my daddy for dinner. He felt bad at first for my taking HIM out on MY birthday, but I NEVER get to treat him and I know he's pretty broke and has to save money to go visit my Gpa next weekend. I came home feeling SOOO bloated!! Smile

I had a few contractions last night, but nothing too horrible, I think it was the bloating. I told the baby that it can come anytime now, now that my birthday is over. Smile

I didn't sleep so good last night. Kept dreaming about my water breaking. Then this morning I woke up and immediately ran to the toilet. My loose stools that I've had for weeks, this morning, are much MORE loose. In fact, I think I can safely say I have diarrhea. No cramping, just yucky.

My mom is supposed to return today from her business trip and my MIL is coming for a day's visit tomorrow (to take us school shopping for our 7 year old) So I'm completely okay with labor starting today, if it's going to. Probably just last night's dinner having it's final say. Lol

Shortly after I had posted on here about the crampless diarrhea, I started having intestinal cramps. Sad

I had cramping and diarrhea on and off all morning, and then the diarrhea went away and left the cramping behind... but early afternoon, I had a little bit more bathroom production and then cramping eased off a bit.

I went to my chiro appointment. It was a chiro I've never seen before but he has the collapsible bed (or something like that) where the midsection dropped with the weight of my belly.

I barely felt the adjustment, but by golly did I feel the improvement in my hips! My sciatic was being pinched cause my saccharin (sit bones) was out. He told me to ice my left buttocks for 20 minutes every hour for 2-3 hours and go for a 20 minute walk every evening and then do some hamstring stretches he showed me to do.

He said his goal was not to put me in labor (told me how his wife begged him for adjustments at the end of her pregnancy in hopes of starting labor) but that if it did get things moving, more power to me considering I'm term tomorrow.

Baby has been moving like mad since I left the chiro's office I guess it likes having my lower back in alignment. LOL

But I've not had any more intestinal cramping since I went to the chiro.

I'll probably go a bit longer, but would be happy if it were to start good tonight.

I know you feel ready to go into labor, but 37 weekers often still have problems, especially white male babies. I'm glad you're feeling better after your adjustment...let's just hope baby stays in place for a couple more weeks.

Happy 37 weeks!

So yesterday I had my 37 week check up and it was really uneventful. Didn't gain any weight in the last week. Baby looked good and was head down. The dr I saw was not my regular dr and said she didn't want to check me. I was okay with it.

As the day went on I started noticing a more 'wet' feeling and small trickles when I pushed on the toilet and even when baby moved. Called the doc a little before 5pm as I was also having some BH's. She sent me to L&D to check for a possible amnio fluid leak. When DH got home, we took the boys to my mom and headed up there. They put me on the monitor for about an hour and a half and in that time frame I had about 5 or 6 contractions, two of which were more intense.

They did the sterile speculum :ouch: and it came back negative for amnio fluid so they discharged me. They did not do a cervical check so I have no idea where I'm at. I had quite a few more contrax after we left but they varied in intensity so we did not time them. Came home and went to bed essentially. I did not notice any more contrax as I slept and only a couple after being up this morning.

DH and I DTD and about 30 minutes later I noticed more BH's while doing the dishes. They were mild, but frequent and with pushing pressure. Since they were mild I did not time them. After I was done with the dishes, I leashed up the dog and went for a long walk. This seemed to increase the intesity and I felt like I was having them every 5 minutes or so. I got excited and brought the dog home and weent back out without her but with DH's wrist watch. I started timing the contrax that were starting to slow my pace a little bit. First two were 4 minutes. Cool I thought (but I didn't time the length). The next one was 8, then 2, then my hip started pulling and my pace dropped as I turned back home. The next contraction was closer to 10 minutes and I got dissappointed.

Well, that was a fun hour and a half. Sad gotta love fake labor.

Aww sorry about the false labor contrations! I've never had those! I went to the hospital with DS#1 because I wasn't getting my kick counts, then just went into labor while I was there. With babies 2 and 3 I was induced... oh well, I'm hoping for the real and natural thing with this baby! It will happen for you soon enough!

If I make it to my 38 week check up on Thursday (likely given my history), then I will have a check done. I had one at 34 weeks due to early labor signs and was a fingertip dialated, then I was checked on 8/1 (35w6d) because of contractions growing in frequency and intensity and I was 1cm then. Those contractions (obviously) went away. I haven't been checked since.

nope. I see the doc tomorrow.

DH is starting to get impatient. He texted me an hour after going to work and said "can you have the baby today?" *sigh* Doesn't help my impatience one bit.

A few BH's today, but def nothing that seems like it will amount to anything.

Right now I'm trying to have "quiet time". Daniel had fallen asleep in the car on the way back from lunch and I got him to his bed, but then made the bad choice of trying to take off his shoes. Then I had to lay down WITH him to try and get him to fall back asleep and Jacob made the bad choice of coming into the room and trying to talk to me. So.... I now have a VERY awake and cranky 2 year old and a 7 year old that is NOT on my good side..... I just tried to put them in their room for a bit..... I'm not winning.

Just put the boys down.

DH finally came home from football. The rat. I was down right pissed at him. With the kind of day I had, you'd think he'd cancel this week. :angry5:

After I had put in here about the boys not cooperating for quiet time, the two year old started screaming at me.. whole body scream kind "NO MOMMY!! NO MOMMY!!" this is the kind of fits he's been throwing lately. All angry like and directed right at me. The kind of screaming fits that make you think the child is possessed. And if the blood curdling screaming and yelling wasn't enough, he starts hitting. I literally broke into tears on the couch in the middle of his fit. I couldn't take it any more. I wished I could have run away.

I'm really not handling this terrible twos thing very well right now. I can't have a moments peace to pee, how am I supposed to take time to take care of myself?! I haven't showered since Sunday, my 7 year old probably doesn't feel like I love him at all right now and the 2 year old is NOT his responsibility like I'm ending up making him to be.

And then DH comes home from work doesn't grill the pork chops like he said he was going to do, and then changes into his work out shorts and leaves to go play touch football with his co-workers. I mean, he goes every week... but dammit I need some alone time! So he says, "why don't you call your mom and have her come help you". Yeah freaking right! That's your freaking job, jack!

sorry.. didn't mean to rant, but I gotta do it to someone cause the people in my life don't hear it or necessarily deserve it.
