Thanks Smile I'm hoping I will have time to actually use this lodge! We will know in the morning at my next checkup.

Things definitely aren't going as planned. I was going for minimally invasive and all that great stuff, but then I had a wreck that totaled my car. Premature dilation and high blood pressure from the stress of the accident has kind of thrown my birth plan out the window. My BP is back to normal, but I continue to dilate slowly.

As of Monday I was 6cm, 75% effaced, but baby was still -2. We shall see if anything has changed and go from there.

I've definitely not been comfortable the past couple days, yesterday I had a lot of mucus discharge... like a ridiculous amount and towards bedtime it was ever so slightly streaked with brown. This morning I woke up to loose hips, blah. It took forever for my hips to solidify again after DS, I have not missed this feeling one bit.

Hopefully things go well in the morning and I will be back to post an intro and all.

sorry that things were thrown off by the accident. Just to give you some confidence, i had to be induced at 35+3 with my first and had a very healthy little guy who came home after 4days (no nicu :)). It's great that you are over 36wks and even though it's not ideal for you, you could def. still have a very positive birth experience (heck you'll be in transition before you go into labor :)).

Are you they planning on letting you alone until you go into labor or will they do something if you've progressed farther. Either way, i hope everything goes smoothly and you can be in a peaceful place for this delivery!

hey Sara! Another oct lodge! Are we the only one's from the Oct board that are on here??? Also, I think we actually have the exact same EDD - the 10th, right?

Feel good, hon!

I think there are 2 more october moms that'll be here. We do have the same due date.

The doctor said if I come in and am an 8 he would like to break my water. I told him I am not ok with that and he said whatever I want. Everyone is mostly just worried about my water breaking and me being so far from the hospital this early.

I was totally ok with an accidental home birth when I thought I would be full term, now I can't get over all the what ifs. He could be born not breathing and 911 is still en route to get to us and then him to the hospital. I just don't know what would be best.

Id love to wait it out and him come when he comes, but what if that is tonight at 2am... ya know?

Great news! Nothing has changed, the heavy bedrest has been paying off. I am to stick to it, but he feels sure we will make it to 37 weeks as long as I stay on the bedrest.

We also both feel like the baby is in the 6lbs range. I am suddenly measuring 39w, I think he had a big growth spurt, which is good.

More to come Smile

Glad to hear they think he's at a healthy weight! One day at a time hon! Sounds like it's all going well. I can't imagine how hard a wreck like that is on a person's body anyway but a woman that is growing a baby, man, that has to be crazy hard. I hope things keep going smoothly.

here is that update thread from a few days ago http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?p=8718446#post8718446

I am not one for many words and I haven't felt like typing up an intro or anything. This whole thing has been exhausting and I still haven't found a car.

I have a new car! An out of town dealership was able to get me in a brand new malibu for a few dollars more than my 09 malibu and they drove it all the way to me to make the deal!!!!

I told the baby he had to stay in until I got a new car... I am hoping he wont think this means its ok to come now lol!

Well I know my lodge wouldn't be very long... we are gonna have a baby soon.

Ive been miserable the past day and apparently that is because I am kind of in labor lol! I am a 7-8 and effaced but he isn't fully engaged.

Going to go have a snack and walk around and then head to the hospital when I feel like it is something. We are at the complex now, just going next door to walk and stuff. So no worries about not making it in time.

After an hour walking I have dilated a little more, the bag is bulging, and he has moved down more. I am not feeling any contractions, but I never do. I am going to walk some more and hope this thing pops already.

You are so close! I can't believe you are this close and aren't feeling any contractions! I hope the bag of water breaks on it's own. I broke my bulging bag of waters with DS2 by "straining" a little bit. Wink But I was completely dilated by that point though. Good luck and will be stalking for updates!

Things went chaotic quickly and I've been working on recovering and resting. We are cleared to go home now though, so hopefully once settled in at home I can write the birth story.

Baby is healthy, he baked just long enough and I am glad for the bedrest.

I am also extremely glad this didn't happen at home.

woah. So intense! I'm so sorry that you weren't supported the way you should have been through that whirlwind birth! Thank god your mother and sister were with you, but I can imagine in those moments, with them having their own fears, they weren't able to be much of a comfort.
I wish you so much healing and strength during your recovery and the ability to take pleasure in the beauty of your son.
Something I noticed in your story that may bring you comfort as you process, you wrote that your afterbirth pains felt like pushing contractions, maybe as you process your experience you can take those pushing feelings and experience them in a healing way, almost like making up for the pushing sensation that you missed out on during the actual birth? I don't know if that will help you, but I thought I'd mention it.

:hugs:!!!

Thanks Ayelet, that is exactly how I was feeling those contractions. And I did get the urge to push to deliver the placenta myself, which was empowering. The whole thing does feel empowering to me because it was so intense and I was strong. I would love to be able to do it over again though and wish things went more "typical", but this wasn't meant to happen in a typical way for a reason, some of the reason I already can see and understand why it was meant to be Smile

Oh Sara! What a birth. My 5th baby was much like that - one minute I was in labor & doing fine the next she was coming out and FAST. I also bled a lot with her afterwards but nothing like what you went through, I'm so sorry you had to go through that & hope that as you emotionally process what went on that your able to heal from the moments that have left you feeling tender.

I am glad you are already finding understanding I think having that knowledge helps in the healing process. With my daughter the fontonel's on the sides of her head were very, very soft & had she been delivered by a doctor who typically man handles their poor little heads she probably would of been hurt - where as she was born into my hands & arms & no one touched her during the birth other than myself. I think it's little moments of insight like that that help mend the hard emotions that come with difficult deliveries.

Many blessings to you Mama!! Can't wait to see pics of your new little fella Wink
