We had friends with the same issue and they ended up shelling out like $150 for this 5-point harness seat belt attachment for their oldest since it was cheaper than actually buying the expensive seats for the 2 older kids. They were trying to fit a 4yr old, 5yr old, and new born in to a Prius.

That cake looks amazing! I might slip into a sugar coma too just looking at it, forget about having to make it! DD is one lucky girl!

Ta Da!!! Here is the 8 billion calorie cake. I didn't have a single bite of it. I cut off a piece and popped it in the freezer. My parents came over to help us eat it and to celebrate. The only person that finished their piece was my step dad. He's a sugar eating fool Everyone said it was absolutely delicious. DH wasn't a huge fan of it because he just doesn't care for things that are that rich. It was a crap ton of work too! Oh well, she's all worth it. I woke up this morning around 5am which is about the time I met my darling daughter for the first time 14 years ago so I laid in bed thinking about that and then DH got up for work so I got up with him. We had 20 latex balloons blown up with helium in assorted colors and we put them in her bedroom floating on her ceiling so she woke up to those this morning. I hung a cloth birthday banner (which I forgot to take a picture of) in the living room. And then I got to work making the rest of the cake. She had an appointment today for a pedicure, part of her birthday present, so I surprised her with that. It was a fun but exhausting day

And a picture of my beautiful girls

When you are able to thaw your piece of cake and finally taste it, I want to hear how it is! It looks scrumptious.
You are super mom to make your DD that tempting cake when you can't even nibble at it. I am amazed at how well you handle your GD diet!

It's easy to handle when you know how terrible you feel when your blood sugars go high. I've learned it's just not worth it. If my blood sugars go up I get EXTREMELY tired and groggy and just feel like poo so it sort of makes it easy to stick to proteins only and avoid sugar like the plague. If there was NO side effects to it I'm not sure I'd be great at managing it. But thanks, it does help to hear you're doing a good job when you're doing something very hard

This is very true. My DH is a type 1 diabetic and I know how miserable he gets. But you're still doing amazing!

Sounds like a happy birthday all around.

So now that DD1's birthday is done, the car seat cover is taken care of, and the MW is lined up, is there anything else in the way of popping out this baby?
