Thank you so much ladies! This is so exciting... I can't believe I'm 36 weeks along already! This pregnancy has flown by, much faster than all of my others. This will be kind of a long intro story, as I'm kind of long winded lol!

My name is Krystal, I'm 29 years old, and I live in Las Vegas, NV. I'm married to a totally sexy man named Donovan (he's 35), and this is the second marriage for the both of us. He has two awesome kids from his first marriage, Logan who is nine and Ian who is six. I have three beautiful babies of my own, Reagan (from my first marriage) who's nine, Maximus, who is six, and Liberty, who will be three next month. Yes, you read that correctly, that there are two six year olds... both of which belong to DH.

I'll try to make this part short, as I'm not particularly proud of how we got together. I met DH at work, he was my boss, when he hired me in October of 2001. We worked in a retail store at the mall, I was 19 and had been married for about 6 months, he was 25 and had been married for over 2 years. I had no kids, and his wife was three months pregnant. In January of the next year, I became pregnant with my first, so our first sons were born in June and October of 2002. For the next couple of years we became good friends, along with the rest of our little "clique" there at our store. Our little group always went to movies (we worked at a movie store!), dinners, would get together at each others houses and hang out... they were good times. During this time the two of us began to have an attraction for each other. Sadly, instead of doing things the right way, we began an affair that lasted nine months, with me getting pregnant in July of '04 and his wife getting pregnant just six weeks later. The affair came to the light in January of '05. In March of that year I gave birth to our son Maximus, and she gave birth to their son Ian. It was a very long and difficult spring, but by the summer the both of us were divorced and were officially together. Like I said, I'm ashamed of my actions and the way that we came together, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. My husband is my best friend, and I am so in love with him, and our blended family.

So back to the happy part (sorry if I've been a downer so far, I just sometimes need to pour my soul out)... babies! All three of my children have been born in hospitals, as will my fourth. I went unmedicated with Reagan, my first, as I felt it was the right thing to do. My mom went natural with me, and I was 10 lbs! I figured if she can do it anyone can! I went to the hospital on the evening of October 1, 2002, around 9PM, because I couldn't get my kick counts. They hooked me up to the monitors (I had been dialated two centimeters for about two weeks prior) and saw that I was having some contractions, but I wasn't feeling them, so they had me walk around for an hour. Well, after the longest hour of walking (and the roughest) I started having horrible pains in my back, and I had dialated another CM, so they admitted me. Well, after almost 12 hours of horrible back labor, an epesiotomy, and two internal tears, my beautiful son was born at 9:38AM, weighing 7 lbs 8 oz. I stuck with my natural birth plan, but the pain was so excrutiating I remember thinking that I would never do it that way again.

With Maximus, I went in for my 39 week appt with the OB, and I was dialated 5 CM with no contractions whatsoever... so they sent me right over to be induced. I had so much drama going on at that time that I never even thought of how stupid it was to be given pit when I was already dialated half way, but they gave it to me anyway and I never said anything about it. So between the pit contractions and my memory of the excrutiating pain I had with my first son, I immediately asked for the epi. It worked wonders, and just five hours later my son arrived at 4:38PM, weighing 8 lbs 7 oz.

With my princess Liberty, by the last month of my pregnancy I was in extreme pain. The pressure in my pelvic area was so intense I could barely walk around for more than a few mintues before I was doubled over in pain feeling like she was going to fall out. I was still working, and that had become quite difficult as well, as I worked in a casino and the walk from the parking garage to my station was painful and exhausting. So because of this, I all but begged my OB to induce me at 39 weeks, which she did. L&D with DD was short and sweet, they broke my water around noon (I was 2 CM upon arrival) and after just two pushes she was born at 3:38PM, weighing 7lbs 3oz.

This pregnancy was completey unexpected (honestly, only my first pregnancy was planned!), as neither one of us wanted any more children. DH didn't want anymore after our six year old was born (for obvious reasons), but of course fell instantly in love with our only girl when she arrived. We were both pretty upset, but as time went on, we realized how blessed we are to have all of these amazing kids. We found out he was a boy at just 13 weeks along, and now here I am at 36 weeks and I can't wait to meet my little prince!

After much back and forth on my part, I decided that I wanted to try and have him naturally as I did with my first... all the while praying that I don't have the horrible back labor that I did with my first baby. Also with no inductions, as the pit makes the contractions so much worse. I've posted before on here about DH just is not on board with my decision, and it's been tough. I know he means well, and he just doesn't want to see me in any type of pain... but if he's not on board I don't know how I'm going to stick with my plan, as my partner needs to be on my side 100% for things to work. Also, my OB isn't much help, as she's already informed me that I HAVE to have an IV, even if I choose to go natural, and they make you have the pit after baby comes to speed up the delivery of the placenta... which is something else that I just don't understand. I hate feeling like I can't be 00% in control of my birthing experience, and at this point wish I could afford a midwife, or at least a doula. So for now I'm sticking to my guns, even if I have to compromise a little bit, by going ahead with an all natural L&D, and hoping for the best.

The pregnancy has been pretty easy, with no morning sickness whatsoever (thankfully I've never had morning sickness with any of my pregnancies), no swelling, no GD, and baby is completely healthy. The only complaint I've had the entire time is my horrible back pain, that continues to get worse as the weeks go by. I've consistantly measured 1-2 weeks ahead since my 20 week U/S... originally due 12/3, and that U/S showed an EDD of 11/29, so my dates have kind of been all over the place. Then at my 34 week appt two weeks ago, my OB said that I was now measuring 2 weeks ahead, and she wanted to do an U/S to check his size. I went the next day and his head was measuring 9CM around, and he was weighing in at 6 lbs 8 oz (and she did these measurements three different times, all with the same result), which pushed my EDD up to Nov. 22. Since posting about this, most all of the girls here have told me not to trust these measurements... but I just don't know. I know my body and my babies and he is by far the largest IMO... just from what I feel from carrying him. Plus, the thought of him being too big to push out and needing an emergency c-section scares me to death. I'm really wondering if my doc will recommend an induction if they feel he's getting too big? Anyway, thanks so much for reading if you made it through this far! I look forward to spending time with you girls over these next few weeks until delivery, and right after! And please, if you have any advice on anything I've talked about here, feel free to share (especially about the measuring ahead and baby being so big)!!! I'll update tomorrow on my appt!

hope your back if feeling a little better lately. are you sitting on a birth ball for any relief? as far as induction, if you are comfortable with it and your body is ready at 39wks it's not a bad thing but there are lots of ways to induce other than pit. research other methods and request they be used first and pit as a last resort. i've been through a pit induction and it's not fun! we're all here to support you in this process . have you sat down with dh and talked to him about your feelings and asked him to be supportive of you during this labor process, maybe he just doesn't get why it matters to you. Also, maybe you can find a good masseuse to get some good massages before baby comes

Hi! I've mostly been lurking on this board since my lodge ended last year, but I just read your story and I did want to chime in. First of all, congratulations! Second, have you tried seeing a chiropractor at all? Two reasons--one, the back pain, obviously. Two, a chiro who is experienced with pregnancy can do great things in helping keep your pelvis nice and loose and aligned so that L&D is much easier--the statistics say it all. Just from personal experience, I started getting terrible back pain around 30 weeks, and finally went to a chiro around 35 or so, when I could barely walk anymore. Within three sessions, I had ZERO back pain, and then I just went in for maintenance adjustments to keep everything in line once a week until my DD was born. Even if you don't have insurance, it's not *that* expensive--like $15 or $20/session around here which yes, adds up, but when you're in late pregnancy you know the end is near anyway so you're talking maybe $100-$150? For me it was very much worth it.

As for the rest of it, I don't have much to offer except big hugs. I know that being in a supportive birth center with a 100% supportive DH was the ONLY way I made it through my NCB. Although at #4, and with your daughter coming so quickly, at least your labor should be pretty fast! Still, is there anybody you know, a friend or relative, maybe, who IS supportive and could act as a doula for you?

I also agree with Kristen regarding the alternative induction methods. My labor lasted so long they were talking pit even at the birth center, but offered to try some herbal remedies first (black and blue cohosh). I went from 5-6 cm (where I had been for 20+ hours) to complete in an hour and a half! Definitely worth looking into...

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advice girls. I have thought about seeing a chiropractor, but after my appt today I don't know if there's time. I just came from my appt... and am still adjusting to the news! If you all can remember, two weeks ago at my 34 week appt I was measuring 36 weeks, and the ultrasound estimated his weight was 6lbs 8oz already. So now Im 36 weeks and he's measuring 41 weeks! She's sending me to a peri to get another ultrasound sometime this week to check on his size again. Here's the shocker for me... Im already dilated 3 cm... my head is still spinning! Basically I could have him any day. I know with my son Max, when I went in for my 39 week appt and was dilated 5 cm they sent me straight over to the hospital. My next appt is on Monday so we'll see if I make it that long! As far as induction, Im not too worried about it now, as it might look as though he may just come on his own... but i will do the research just in case!

with my second i was dialated to a three for just over a week. glad you have an answer for all the pressure!!! if you can squeek it in seeing a chiro might be the best thing just to get your body/pelvis in line and get your some relief before labor. I would guess that you don't have too much longer though how exciting! what were your other babies birth weights? hoping when labor kicks in it's short and sweet!

Ironically enough, I think I've finally figured out that it's my bed causing my back pain! The crappy thing is that it's a Tempur Pedic... but I love it when I'm not pregnant! I think it's just too hard of a bed. But the past few nights I've stacked three pillows (one of them being my long body pillow) like stairs up against the headboard and laid on them that way... so I'm sort of sitting up... and it's worked wonders!! I've woken up with no back pain at all!

My other babies' weights were in order 7 lbs, 8 oz... 8 lbs, 7 oz... and 7 lbs, 3 oz. So all pretty average, with my middle child being the biggest. I swear though... this baby feels like he could easily be a 9 pounder!! I can't wait until my U/S on Monday, then my regular appt right after to finally find out how big he is. I'm also curious to see if I've dilated anymore. I know when I was dilated to 5 with my middle baby, they made me go straight over to the hospital to be induced... so we'll see!!
