Hello ladies!!! Thank-you for starting my lodge, Beth!
I am feeling pretty good emotionally, not so much physically. I'm not too anxious, staying pretty "chill", and my mind is in a good place for labor and delivery. I am pretty uncomfortable with the head engagement (still not 100% on that but we'll find out Thursday at my next MW appointment if that is indeed what it is) but I had a visit with my doula today and she said it definately sounds like he's engaged but warned me that that doesn't mean labor is gonna happen tomorrow, or anytime soon. I told her that was actually what I wanted to hear, lol, b/c I really want my birthing center birth and I have to be atleast 37 weeks to deliver there so a baby in the next week will not do! I had a wonderful talk with her about all my lovely (yet common) aches and pains-- I just didn't have this many with my first two babies (and to think that I thought I had it bad with them). She said as far as him coming earlier than what my others did-- she's had 8 pregnancies resulting in 7 children and had given birth anywhere from 32 weeks to 42 weeks but that most of her children were born around 40 and a few days. I think it just depends on the baby from what I gather and talking to other moms... but once again, an EDD is just a guess, I plan on letting him come when he's ready (though I will be trying after this week to get him to come naturally with walking and DTD).
All that being said, my BH contractions went from zilch to being quite frequent and strong in the past week. My doula said it sounds like these contractions may be doing something to my cervix though b/c not only have I been losing pretty good-sized amounts of my plug, I'm feeling the contractions start in my lower pelvis (like period cramping) and moving up while radiating around to my back at the same time-- they just aren't even remotely regular, frequent but not regular. They are giving me lots of practice with breathing and I've also found that the more I can move during them, the less I tense up (or hold my breath), even if it's just leaning on my bed and swaying my hips.
Well, that's about it! Today was a better day b/c I wan't on my feet as much-- still had the contractions but being off my feet definately helps with the pressure. Oh! We decided to quit with the Tailor sitting b/c it's hurting me to sit that way and my doula thinks that if something is hurting you then it's your body's way of saying something isn't right. Baby was in ROT position last visit two weeks ago and I'm pretty sure he's OP now (based on where I'm feeling movement) (my last two were also OP) and the MW thinks I just don't have a wide enough pelvis to have them OA. We'll try to get him to move during labor and I'll continue with the pelvic rocking b/c it does help me get to sleep better getting him off my bladder some. His positioning is the only thing that makes me doubt engagement b/c with my others, I didn't engage until good labor and I had a looong labor with my son (but every baby is different). I was hoping to get some things going with this one, some good pressure on the cervix with a good position to hopefully speed things up during labor but at this point, I'm just taking it as it comes.

Can't wait to share my birth with you ladies and read about the upcoming births!!! I'm VERY excited!!!

    Updating from my appointment.
Ok, so, it was rather eventful... my iron is going up! (YAY!) Up one point, need to get it up atleast one more point so they are also adding dessicated liver pills to my list and upping the chlorophyll to half a cup daily. I have a yeast infection (BOO!) which they think may be causing the contractions, I did have some contractions while the MW was feeling the baby. Now for the fun stuff! May have to go in for a non-stress test as they think my fluids are on the low side. MW said it doesn't feel like saran wrap low but things felt awfully tight (even when I wasn't contracting), the other MW agreed but she actually felt like the NST wasn't needed as much as MW#1 did but left it up to her ultimately... baby's heart rate was a tiny bit low (low for him) at 120 but it quickly spiked when they checked it a few minutes later to 160 (which is ultimately why they said the NST might not be needed) so the MW said that showed that he was being responsive and that was a good thing, meant he wasn't in trouble. They are having me do kick counts today and if I feel like he isn't moving as much or the kick counts show he isn't, they are going to send me for the NST. His head is actually not anywhere near my cervix (maybe one of his hands were) so where that pressure is coming from, I dunno unless he moved over night (which they said is possible, that he may move quite a bit more before delivery but the MW wants to avoid having him go breech) b/c he was transverse today. His head is on my right side and his feet are on my left. They all tried their hardest to tell exactly how he was lying but he is all jobbled up in there but the MW thinks he's laying on his side, transverse. She said to try and walk but to watch it with the contractions and to really push, push, push the water, infact, I prolly will be drinking anything but water. No glucose or protein in my urine and I think that was about it. I'll see how these kick counts go today, which so far, he's been moving non-stop since I ate and I don't think there's a problem, and I'll see them next Wed...
