Went to bed, got woke up by a handful of them, but they seem to have tappered off during the night. :-/ How crazy is that?! Those were good contractions AND at every FIVE minutes!

And this is what I had typed up for my BB, figured I'd copy and paste it here:

    Seems like...
... that along with some of you other ladies, I had an eventful night last night, too. Contractions started sparadically around 6 p.m. We ate dinner, I bathed the kids, got them all ready for bed, played drill sergent mommy while they picked their toys up, etc. Went over to my dad's to watch "True Blood" (we don't have HBO)-- knew I was contracting during all of this and like I had mentioned to Veronica, I had that crampy feeling like AF needed to come or had just started, but I hadn't started thinking I needed to time contractions. Got home and decided that perhaps I needed to start timing the contractions b/c they were becoming pretty uncomfortable, getting to the point where I couldn't ignore them and found out that they were every FIVE minutes! I timed them for a hour (hubby knew what was going on), called my dad to have him on stand-by, texted my doula to have her on stand-by but let her know I wasn't sure if this was IT b/c I had had a long labor with my son (un-induced, 23.5 hour labor, even with contractions this close) and I wanted to go to sleep b/c I was exhausted. My stomach got very upset and I took a bath to make sure I was cleaned up and went to bed. I fell asleep fairly easily after the bath and got woke up a few times by contractions but for the most part, this morning, I haven't contracted by maybe twice in 30 mins. but I still have that awful, annoying AF needs to start feeling! I hope I'm not gearing up to have prodromal labor like I did with DD. (As I type, I'm having the third contraction of the morning and it's a pretty good one!) This is how things played out before I was induced with DD, LOTS of contracting (even though I'm well-hydrated and haven't over-done it) that do nothing and tapper off after a few hours and by the time I went to have her, I was exhausted. I'm calling the midwives today to let them know my concern and what they think I should do but I'm trying to be optimistic that this won't be another two weeks of prodromal labor spells... ugh.

Ughh. That sucks. I have prodromal labor for around 4 weeks before I finally have my babies. It is the worst. But I look at it this way, it's less dilating that I have to do once I do go into labor. I usually take sleeping pills at night so I can get the sleep I need so I'm not worn out by the time I do go into labor. I hope you can get some sleep and rest. I found the birthing ball was nice to help me ignore the contractions during the day.

I wish I hadn't taken that bath last night, I didn't know it would stall or stop early labor to take a hot bath. My contractions are trying oh-so-hard to pick back up today, they are good contractions, down low in my pelvis and spreading up, lasting about 45 secs. but I can't get them regular like they were last night. Been doing some NS and drinking lots of water as I don't want it to just be irritated uterus.

I also suffer from prodomial labor. Although after 2 weeks of this, I must admit I caved and took the pit. Last time I only lasted 1.5 weeks before accepting the cervadil. My contrax WERE causing dilation and effacement, just not much. Although last time, my doc said when you get to 4cm (I think that's the number she said) then it shouldn't stop... and they could stretch me to whatever it was when I was there for the cervadil. So, this time I'm hoping to avoid the induction drugs.

Hopefully you can get the contrax to start coming more frequent and regular!!

    OY!

I did that for about 2-3 weeks with DD... But when she came, it was an easy 1h 45min labour! I swear the midwife was on call for about 2 weeks straight...

I hope for a short labor for you!

Oh, I'm so sorry. Don't be mad at yourself for the bath though, I tried to fight through with my labor and just wore myself out and stalled out completely for a short while. Hopefully it was a good sign though and you won't have anymore stall outs.

Thanks ladies! I've had some good, sparadic contractions today but nothing even remotely regular. :-/ I really hope that when I settle back in for bed tonight and relax that they'll pick back up and will get going through the night (went into active labor with DS at 3 a.m.). Y'all are all too sweet and supportive! I truely appreciate it! It is so discouraging to think this is how my first labor ended up being altered with pit. (failure to progress-- they should call it failure to progress fast enough for them) and why I "had" to be induced with DD. So glad I have educated myself on it and if it is prodromal labor again, I can deal with it with the right mind-set and so glad that since I'm at the birthing center, I have supportive women constantly reminding me that it will end and most-likely, like many of you said, will end with a faster active labor (I did go from 6-10 with DD in 30 minutes!).
I did try a good bit of NS today and have been drinking tons of water and keeping my bladder empty b/c like I said, I don't want any sort of irritated contractions-- only the real deal. Hopefully I'll be on here sometime tonight with good news, that's my outlook. And if not, that's ok. I was honestly expecting to go all the way to my due date and last night caught me off gaurd a bit.
