Oh Erin, what a day.
Won't it be great to get those cuddles tonight!

Oh no, what a day already. Hopefully that meeting with said co-worker goes fast and you have a great day from that point foward.

I made it through the day yesterday. My BFF called and cheered me up, and then I took a shower and took the dog for a long waddle, er, walk as a peace offering. I also talked to my Mom for a while last night. I know all of these emotions are normal, so I just have to get through them.
My ankles have swelled up from mildly swollen to huge cankles by the end of the day now, just starting a few days ago. I have to go to 2 days of customer meetings and 2 days of staff meetings in Boston this week, and I have no shoes that are going to work, so I ordered some Dansko Mary Janes from Zappos, and they arrived yesterday. I tried them on, and DH was looking at them, and said, "You're going to hate me for this, but your feet look huge in those." I told him that my feet ARE huge, and it's not the shoes' fault. Anyway, the swelling goes down overnight, so I tried them again this morning to make sure they will be cute enough post-partum, and I guess they will.
Today is Mommy and Christopher day. DH has him the next 3 days (I have to work on Sunday, and preschool is closed M/T and he's covering because of my conference), so I am taking him for some one on one time today. I think we're going to make muffins this morning, then walk to the library and playground (right next to each other), then probably walk into town for lunch. After naps for both of us, we'll see if we're up for going to the pool or if we'll just hang at home. DH will join us for dinner - grilling out, I think. I'm looking forward to it! I hope DS is in a good mood.
I'm glad you are feeling better today! My dog is getting old and his stomach is super sensitive to things so we have had several recent dog poop incidents and DH doesn't clean them well either. I don't understand why... I hope it will be better when he is changing diapers.
Your Mommy & Christopher day sounds really nice - enjoy it!
What is with dogs pooping in the house? It seems to be a running theme. The last thing we preggos need right now is having to get down on our hands and knees and clean up stinky poo! Anyway, glad to hear you're doing better. Sounds like you've got a wonderful day planned.
Oh, and about your poor, clueless boss: it sound like he really relies on you. It's nice to be needed. Hopefully he'll be able to manage without you for a while!
I can't believe they want you to come in so often for NSTs due to "advanced maternal age." That would irritate me. They really need to scrap that label.

More seriously, I'm sorry your day has been so awful and I hope it brightened up by the end. The end of pregnancy is hard enough without the hormones making things worse!
Well, that was a lovely night of sleep. I woke up around 2:00 with some contractions. They were strong enough to wake me up and make me think, "hey, contractions!" but not strong enough to make me have to breathe through them, and not in any pattern. I know full well that it could still be weeks before I go into real labor, and these are likely just the first signs of my body warming up. Last time it was so much more dramatic with a big WHOOSH of water breaking before full term, so I never got into this waiting game. Either way, they got me thinking about a major hole in our Christopher coverage plan, since he does not have preschool M or T this week (teacher training). So, I stressed about this and watched HGTV for a while in the middle of the night.
Just as I got back to sleep, DS then woke up at 3:15 with a sore throat. After a glass of water and a cuddle, he went back to sleep, but then had to go potty at 3:45. And then the dog started at 4:00. DH had been sleeping in the guest room last night anyway, as I've been keeping him up the last few nights tossing and turning, but I marched in and told him to deal with the dog and went back to bed.
And I have to work (and meet customers, no less!) today. Oh well.
After nights like that I used to wish for a paper shuffling job rather than one where I had to GIVE. Meeting customers is much like teaching. Have to be on your toes and give give give. I hope it is a short day for you! September is coming soon!

Well lets hope these contractions continue and move onto something more productive. I am sorry to hear about the swelling and the lack of sleep. I hate that part of pregnancy. Hopefully today is better.
