    Default 20w...terrible headache and more

So I was 20w on Sunday. Yay! I had the most horendous headache though. I had a bad one on Saturday too, but the one on Sunday was awful. I have a bp cuff from my 2nd pg where I did have hypertension. BP spiked to 167/97, ugh! I laid on my left side and it went down. Tylenol didn't kick the headache so I took some ibuprophen which I don't like to take because it is category C. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Oh, no.
Stay away Pre-e. How is your urine looking? (on the strip. Protein and what not..) How about your water intake? Maybe try a small serving of something caffeinated?

I get horrible migraines while pregnant and my OB actually suggested taking tylenol and drink a caffeinated drink. Caffeine is better than Ibuprofen IMO.

I would definitely keep a close eye on your bp, especially if you have a history of hypertension. Headaches suck when preggo, tylenol really doesn't help with the bad ones

Urine and BP have been perfect so far at the doc's office. Water, probably not as good as it should be, but not terrible. I told dh to get me a coke hoping the caffeine would help, but it didn't. I have a slight headache today, but I am staying away from meds as it can cause rebound headaches. I didn't end up with full blown BP with my 2nd prengnacy. BP spikes around this time and leveled off nicely with meds and didn't end up being an issue at all at delivery time actually. My second child is the only one I ever had issues with and this is my 4th, so who knows. LOL I just don't want anything to jeopardize my vbac.

OH and the thing I guess that scares me is that my dad's stroke was caused by high blood pressure. Uncontrolled for a long time sooo maybe I am just nervous because of that. My sister had pre-e with 2 of her 3 kids. My bp was perfect with my 1st and my 3rd. Who knows.

This!!! Tylenol and a pop or coffee kicks my nasty headaches every time. Doesn't always work for migraines though. I've been helping keeping those under control with my chiropractor.

I had HORRIBLE headaches the first 5 months of this pg. Tried extra strength tylenol along with a Dr. Pepper and DR also prescribed a med, but nothing helped. I just had to deal with them as best as I could. If the Tylenol and coke don't help I woud talk to your doc about a different med you can take. I hope the headaches go away!

Yep - I agree too! I had horrible headaches everyday for about 7 weeks of this pg - check my "Feb Page" to see for sure the weeks that consisted of. Anyway - just a half of cup of coffee right at the onset was enough to keep them away for the whole day. Tylenol never did anything... One day a few weeks ago I just stopped getting them - so I stopped the coffee.

Good luck love - hope you feel better soon! xoxo

Heading to the doc today as my bp was high 178/99 last night. Please pray that this can be controlled and I don't end up with full blown pre-e.
