Simon is 6 weeks old today! It has been a while since I've been here so I thought I would update our situation.
Things are going fairly well! He does not sleep well at all and I'm pretty sleep deprived, but considering that, I've got it together pretty good. My house is mostly tidy aside from the laundry. LOL. And the older kids eat every day.
I'll start with Simon. He's healthy as a horse. Weighed in at 13lb 13oz this morning! I have been pumping once a day and giving him a bottle. I've never had a bf baby take a bottle before and thought it would be convenient. He does it very well!! He also takes a soother as he's got such a suck reflex but doesn't want to comfort nurse because of my over-supply. He sleeps in 2 hour increments at night and naps off and on during the day. He's got his fussy times too, especially in the evening, but I know that those times are peaking now at 6 weeks.
Now me. I'm doing OK. Physically, I feel so great and not at all like I had a baby 6 weeks ago. I've lost all my baby weight and am back in my old jeans even! I really attribute this to all the walking I do (and started back up with 20miles/week at 2 weeks PP) and to belly binding. The belly binding was awesome and I recommend it to everyone! I'm really tired from not sleeping much so I haven't gotten into cloth diapering yet. It's just too much to deal with that laundry and caring for all my older kids too. With Leo it was easier...but Leo was the easiest baby ever.
And here's a pic of my chunker with his big sister Mallory:
Thanks for letting me share and thanks for all the support through our journey!
So precious! I have a belly binder....I didn't use it last time around. Maybe I will this time!
Sounds like things are going pretty well! Cute picture of Mallory and Simon
Very cute picture Glad to hear everything is going well
Your kiddos are adorable!
Maybe it's in your lodge or somewhere else on here (point me in the right direction?), but if you haven't mentioned it yet - what exactly did you do with belly binding. I'm definitely going to try it this time around.
Hi, emily! Soo good to "see" you. Simon is so cute and it sounds like you are doing well.
I totally agree on the binding-- I loved it after my 4th--esp the pressure it provided during afterpains......ahhhh relief.
I hope you get some sleep. Lexi is a crummy sleeper, too. Sleep deprivation can be so hard! No wonder they use it as torture.....
