Oh goodness that's one big baby! In labor for 15 minutes? They must had meant pushing for 15 minutes. I love how the partner says how easy it was LOL

WOW  It was probably so fast because he was so big he just fell out. And her first baby was 7 lbs!

it seems weird to me that the second baby was SO much bigger than the first...it makes me wonder if something unusual caused it...I know the article said she didn't have GD, but I imagine the screening misses it sometimes...or maybe something else...still really awesome that he was born vaginally, though!

Ya, I wondered that too. Unless, maybe it's a different father??

I dunno! A girl I work with had ZERO labour, and pushed for 2 pushes with an almost 11lbs babe! It's totally possible!

*lurker*
My friend Kate has had 3 natural HB. Her last was 13lbs and 23.75 in long. Her other two children were almost 10lbs and 11.5lbs so she just makes huge babies.

I wish I saw this post sooner. A friend of mine just had her son the other day by c/s bc the baby was over 9lbs. She actually went into labor in the beginning of last week and they stopped her progression bc she was having a scheduled c/s. I think it was bs that they told her that.

I'm sorry your friend had a c/s! Stopping her labor because she had the c/s scheduled sounds like total BS to me! Why not just let her labor and then do a c/s if the baby doesn't come out (which, chances are, it would have!)?

I know I thought that my self when I saw her posts on FB about the whole thing. I thought she was having scheduled one bc of it being her 2nd kid (i don't remember if her first was natural or c/s) so I was assuming she was having one bc they wouldn't let her do a VBAC and then she told that the whole reason was bc the baby is over 9lbs. I couldn't even respond back to her bc I was in shock that the reason was that.

I know my Aunt having her last son he was 10lbs+ and she had him all natural, only complications she had was his head was very large and his head got stuck in her pelvis so his head is a little misshapen bc of her pushing and his head actually pushing into her pelvis. So I know its possible, the female body is an amazing thing and these Dr.s out there won't let us do what our bodies were made to do.
