Birth Center Tour

So tonight was supposed to be the night DH and I went to tour our local birth center. I have been there before when one of my friends delivered, but I have never really had the "full tour" or got to ask any of my questions. I was really looking forward to going tonight since we have had to wait weeks to get this tour, but they just called me to tell my that they are in the middle of a baby boom and have to push the tour to next Wednesday. Lol I am bummed that I have to wait another week, but I guess they can't have people touring the place while women are trying to deliver their babies in peace. DH is not really being very open minded about this birth center... I am basically dragging him to it, but he's agreed to go since I am ultimately the one who will make the decision since I am giving birth. I hope that once he sees it and meets the midwives, then he will realize it's completely and totally safe. I may still end up delivering at the hospital simply because we do have a great hospital and I love my OB, but this will definitely help me make my choice and persude DH if need be.

Boo to having to wait. Have you made sure they'll have room to squeeze you in for December? I know that my BC can fill up pretty quick.

I hope you love it! Visiting our BC for the first time was so exciting. I remember looking at the tub and whispering to DH, "that's where we're having this baby!" 7 months later I did indeed have that baby in that tub!

I didn't even think about the fact that they might not have room for me, but when I called to book the tour, they asked when my due date was and checked to make sure they could take me.

What a bummer about the tour being pushed back. I hope that DH will understand just how professional and safe a BC is when he sees it. I think it's great that you have an OB and hospital you love just incase you somehow end up there, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can have the BC birth you want.

Ok I just wanted to update and say that we finally got to tour it last night and I LOVED IT! I totally fell in love with every single thing about it! And the coolest thing is that DH told me half way through the orientation & tour that "he was sold." Smile I really didn't think he would come around so easy so I'm super excited. I was by far the most pregnant person there. Most people touring it were still in their 1st trimester... The midwife who runs the place told me that she rarely has people come to her in their 3rd trimester because she usually doesn't have any spaces left this late in the game, but she just happened to have one more in December so I will take that as it's meant to be.
Here is the link to the place. Pretty cool!
