Birthing Center

So I'm really excited about my birthing center. I took pictures so DH can see it, so of course I need to share them here:

This is from the outside, looking at one of the birthing rooms. You can see the door and there is a fenced area there that is just for the birthing suite.

That is beautiful! The rooms look so inviting and serene. I agree with Emily, those tubs look fabulous. I can't wait to hear about your l&d while there :D.

Looks awesome! I would love to be able to get in one of those big tubs during labor. I've only ever used standard size tubs for water labor, and the big ones seem like they would be so much more comfortable.

I know! Is this in the city or smaller town (I lived in Washington for 6 years before moving down here to OR)?

Ditto! That's one thing about the HB that I'm not thrilled about - having to keep the house clean and tidy before the birth. I'm a pretty messy person in general, but I can't have my house all cluttered during the birth as there will be midwives and other attendees, and who knows when I'll be able to clean it again afterwards.

That birth center looks so nice and homey and comfortable. Is it very expensive?

So nice!! It looks so homey! I agree with the pp, the tubs look amazing! Even thought I don't plan to labour in water, access to one of those tubs might change my mind! LOL!

Your birth center is gorgeous! I'll have to give my center some design tips! It's quaint but nowhere near as lovely as yours.

Lovely rooms!

Concerning the tubs, DD used their hot tub for Reed's birth, then a smaller inflatable one indoors for Ivy's delivery. She MUCH preferred the deeper and more spacious hot tub and is hoping that baby #3 comes on a day when the temperature is suitable for hot tub use once more.

In answer to cost, I honestly don't know. It is all covered under my insurance, at least as much as the hospital. I have deductible and 20% I think. So, I didn't really ask about the total price. The paperwork I signed did not mention a facility fee (I think the paperwork was the original stuff for their home births), just the birth fee, assistant fee, etc. So, I don't even know if there is seperate fee. Anyway, the only fees I focused on was what my insurance won't cover: birth assistant (and doula).
