I realize it is soooo early but I had a bunch of BH and I was curious.
I am thinking its all fine but I'm curious as to if your cervix stays a little open all the time after you have had a child?
I would say I could have stuck my finger in it had I tried but I wasn't about to do that obviously so early.... don't want to mess with anything there!
Anyhow, my question is do you think I am dilated a little or its just the way it is. It seemed super mushy and not near as long as when I checked about a month ago?
I was at a 1 or so and 50% effaced at 30 weeks with Tyler but alas.... ended up being induced and sectioned at 39 weeks. So I wonder if I just start to "prepare" way early?

women who use NFP and check their cervix for signs of fertility when NOT pregnant often say that their cervix is about the same. i'd say mine was when not pregnant. i havent checked recently... too close and too far at the same time i think at this stage. dont want to get myself excited thinking i'll go early or do any damage if i'm more than a fingertip IYKWIM.
but thats about how i was before getting pregnant, softness relative to my stage of fertility.
Mine seems soft and a little open. It was like that with #2, too. I think it can be normal if you've already had a baby.

I have checked my own cervix quite a bit (currently using NFP for birth control) I do think my cervix became slightly more open-feeling after giving birth. There is this great website called www.beautifulcervix.com--there are pics of many women's cervices taken using a speculum. The woman who started the project who has the photos of the entire cycle had never given birth and then if you compare her's to women who have given birth, you can see the difference. I think it is a really awesome website.

Thanks guys! Pico, while I never pushed a baby through it I sure tried. I got to 10 and pushed him out some but he was acynclitic and just wouldn't come all the way!
So I figure I was *close* to giving birth vaginally so I could have stretched out for sure.

Oh, i forgot you had a c/s. Yeah, fully dilating can make the cervix different after and I'm sure pushing does, too! If you're worried definitely ask your doc. I was 1cm and 50% at 36w with #1 (and still there at 39+1 when my water broke) but since that was my first cervical check I have no idea how early long I had been there. I was at 2cm and 50% by 37w with #2 and was still there at 39+5 when labor started, again, no idea when I started dilating.
