If i barge in and ask a question?
So I am trying to find a doula in my area. I have gone to doula.org and doulanetwork.com and emailed approx 5-7 people and not one has gotten back to me. I live in a fairly small town but only about an hour from Minneapolis.
Is there a better way to find one?
Any advice (including personal experience on what to ask or look for) would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You might have better luck calling people rather than emailing. Some doulas are not tech-savvy.
Other sites:
http://cappa.net/
http://www.findadoula.com/

Also, see if your state or city has a doula organization with member listings. Search for "[YOUR STATE] doula association".

Hey Liane,
I would also see if there is a midwifery practice or birthing center in your area with a webpage of links. My m/w's page links to a bunch of area doulas.
I'm glad you found a list, and your more then welcome to hang out any time!!
That's great that they have a list they can send you! I hope your able to find someone. If your still looking CBI (http://childbirthinternational.com/) is another website worth checking out, although they are currently having some issues with their website so you wont be able to search it. Hopefully it'll be up again in another day or so, their working hard at getting it back up.

If you still are having issues, I live in Minneapolis and a few of my friends are doulas, so they might know some in your area.
