Finally have my first appt. UPDATED with appt. info...

Hey ladies,I posted in here several weeks ago announcing my 5th pregnancy...that it was unplanned and a huge surprise, but that we are happy and trying to get used to the idea. My youngest is only 11 months old. Crazy.Anyway, finally have my appointment booked. I knew they would schedule an ultrasound in addition because that is the only way to find out how far along I am so I was able to get that booked in advance although it was a hastle. Anyway, got my appt. set up for this coming Wednesday morning with the ultrasound to follow immediately after. Looking forward to it. Nervous to make sure everything is ok, but excited to finally hear the heartbeat, have the ultrasound and see that the baby is okay without any problems, find out how far along I am , and when I am due. DH has the day off and I have a sitter for the other kids so we are looking forward to getting to enjoy this together without the kids. Will update you all when I find everything out!UPDATE with appt. info:Thanks ladies!I went to my appt. last Wednesday morning and was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It sounded so good. When I was lying there still in shock over this whole pregnancy, I asked my midwife..."So I really am pregnant, huh?" She laughed and said you sure are. She was excited to see us and couldn't get over how big my son is...she delivered him last August. She measured me and guessed that I was about 14 weeks, but then when she did the cervical exam she said it may be closer to 16 weeks. After my appt. we went straight to the ultrasound and that took about 40 minutes. Baby boy slept in his carseat the whole time so that was nice. At my ultrasound baby's legs were crossed and we couldn't see gender yet. But baby was moving around and so cute. Very active. It was so surreal to hear the heartbeat and actually see our baby in the same day. Eventually baby opened the legs and we got an idea what the gender is. We were surprised with our last baby as we chose not to find out his gender, but with this one we just kind of decided to go for it and what we are trying to decide now is if we will tell people or keep it to ourselves. The tech was pretty sure of the gender but we will wait until the next ultrasound in a month before we decide for sure what we are doing...The reason we were able to see the gender is because based on the ultrasound measurements I was estimated to already be 16 weeks 5 days as of last Wednesday with a due of January 10, 2014. As of today almost a week later, I will be 18 weeks tomorrow already. Its crazy that I am already almost halfway and just barely found out how far along I am, my due date, heard and saw the baby for the first time just barely last week. We are excited though. Never had a winter baby so that will be interesting. After the appt. we went and got some blood work done, then got to go to lunch (baby was still sleeping all through it) so it was a pretty nice mostly child-free date. The kids loved looking at the pictures of the baby that we brought home and are very excited. I have also been wondering if I have been feeling movements in the last week. I think so, but not positive. The tech also told me that the placenta is posterior this time which I am glad about, cause with my last two placenta was anterior so it was harder to feel movements until further on because the placenta was in the way...but not this time. So I think I really have been feeling little movements. I am just barely starting to poke out so its still easily enough to hide. I probably won't announce it publicly until my official ultrasound in a couple weeks.Anyway, things are going well and we are happy. Everything else going on in my life right now is a whole other story...lots of stress, very overwhelmed, etc. But at least the baby looks good...

Great update, thanks for KUP! I was amazed with how much I felt with Weston, and how early, because the placenta was in a different place. With Tiven I didn't feel anything until she was at the point where you could *see* her moving from the outside.

Sounds like great news, Kimia!!! Take it easy, being pregnant with 4 littles is a wild ride! Yours are just about the same ages as mine, so just know you have a buddy here! (We also moved 3 weeks before DS5 was born, so overwhelmed... I can relate!)
Sending you lots of love, patience and strength!

Hey Ladies,
Don't know if you remember me...its been several months since I last posted. Things have been so crazy and busy that I just haven't had time to get on here. But now that I am getting so much closer to my due date I will try to log in more frequently.

I am officially 35 weeks today and baby is growing well. Just had my appointment on Wednesday and my midwife said baby is measuring right on target and is head down...so hoping baby stays in that position. My son was head down at 35 weeks also, then flipped to breech at 36 weeks and we had to do a manual version with my cousin who is a midwife to flip him back around. Just praying this baby stays in the position it is currently in.

My mom moved in with us over the summer as she is trying to get rehab and recover from a stroke she had so that has been kind of overwhelming and stressful at times, trying to take care of her, our 4 kids, getting further along in my pregnancy, and dealing with lots of extended family drama. But I am hanging in there...just wanted to let you all know I am still alive and kicking and will make a better effort to keep in touch.
