I had a wonderful appt with my midwife today! She is totally lovely- reminds me a lot of my mom. I felt really comfortable with her. We mostly just chatted today- I told her about my first birth, etc and how things have been going this pregnancy. We did go over the contract a bit, though mostly she gave it to me to read at home- we'll sign it next time I see her.
The really awesome news that she gave me though, is that if I still want to have a home birth (she is a little worried about me having a baby in the car given how relatively quick my first birth was), she is willing to attend (it's a bit further than she usually drives for births), AND she can bill my doula as her birth assistant (which is what my doula is when they work together at the birth center) even for at home...which means the whole thing would only cost $2000 instead of $2800, and I would still get my doula mostly covered by insurance, because technically she is there not as a doula, but as an assistant!
I just mentioned it to my step-mom and she said she'd love to have the birth at home. So I need to talk to my husband and see how he's feeling about things (he was already sleeping by the time I got home from my appt- darn 12 hour time difference!), but it's looking very likely that I might get my home birth after all!
Oh, and the other bit of great news is that she will deliver a "normal breech" at home.Of course, I'm still going to do whatever I can to try to get this LO to turn (she did feel, and agreed s/he is breech), but it's really nice to know it's not an "auto-c-section" just for being breech.

So basically, I am very excited!![]()

That's awesome! I'm so glad that you love your MW and that everything is working out perfectly for you. I would also say that at 30 weeks you still have a really good chance of the baby turning in the next 10 or so weeks, but it's great to know that your MW is okay with a breech delivery if it comes to that. What a great stress reliever!

I have a really hard time getting past my own history- that is- NOT having a story that ends with, "But then she ended up turning on her own!" Especially after how hard I tried to turn DD...and we still had to do the version. But honestly, I feel like this time, there is more chance of this baby turning because *I* won't have the added stress/pressure of a looming c-section if baby doesn't turn. Like, last time, I didn't let it get to the point of going into labor, and having baby possibly turn during labor, because I didn't want to risk an emergency c-section if the baby didn't turn. But this time, I'll be able to just let things go... and I do think not being stressed about it, will make it more possible that baby will turn.

AWESOME appointment! I'm impressed by your MW and I haven't even met her! You've found a real gem there.
Lovely update... I talked to my DH a few hours ago, and between the HB being cheaper than birthing at the BC (and still covered at 80% by my insurance), and our home actually being closer to the best hospital in the area than the BC is...my hubby was pretty quick to say, "If it's what you really want... we'll do it!" Yay!
