Funny conversation I had last night about my "due date" (XP)
I told someone (an acquaintance) last night after being asked by her what my due was that I was due at the end of August, maybe into September.
Her- "oh, you haven't been to the dr yet to get your due date?"
Me- "no, I've seen the dr already."
Her- "So, what's your due date?"
Me- "why, the baby can't tell time and won't expire?"
Her- "I've heard of people keeping the gender a secret but no one keeps the due date a secret."
Me- "it's not a secret, it's the end of August."
Her- "yes, but what day?"
Me- "why does it matter what day the dr thinks, the baby doesn't care and will come when he or she is ready?"
Her- "well, that way you'll know when you have to have the baby by"
Me- "I'll have the baby whenever he or she is ready to be born, why do I need a date to fret over?"
Her- "did he give you a date?"
Me- "yes"
Her- "you're not going to tell me when it is, are you?"
Me- (smile) "no, I'm not because it isn't important to me, my baby or you"
Her- "you are one of the most difficult people I know"
Me- "I know. Thank you! By the way, we won't be finding out the gender either so don't ask "
She was flabbergasted by the end of the conversation but still smiling so I'm taking that as a good sign. There were several people around (other volleyball moms) that all know already just how passionate and stubborn I am when it comes to birth-y stuff and they were about to fall over on the ground laughing during the conversation. It was fun, I so love messing with people.
