My father had a stroke on Thursday night. I have been here with him pretty much full time. He is doing well. He is able to move all his arms and legs and with therapy I think he will mostly recover. He has speech issues though as the stroke was on the left side of his brain. He has yet to meet with a speech therapist. He is able to talk, but it is very hard to understand him and he is having some problems mixing things up. Prayers are for sure appreciated. Considering what we thought Thursday night I am feeling much better about things.

I'm so sorry your father stroked, I hope the speech therapy gives great results and he can regain most of his motor and speech skills quickly.

Hang in there, we will absolutely send prayers your way. A good friend had a stroke a few months ago and went from being in pretty bad shape to making a near-full recovery. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone, you all have been so kind. My father was released from the hosptial on Thursday 10/7. He was moved to a nursing facility about 45 min away from where I live. He is moving today to the town where I live. He is doing well, but is struglling. I feel fortunate that he is alive, but I still miss my father. He was a a young 63, working full time and full of energy. He did construction work so he was very strong and fit. I pray the therapy works and we can have him back at least most of the way.
