Good appointment today!!!

Can I just say I LOVE my midwife, even though she was a little late it was a great appointment. She has an assistant midwife that is in the "twilight zone" with midwifes, not a student anymore but not quite a midwife, and turns out she was at my friends birth that lives just down the street from us. Everything is good. I've gained a total of 2 1/2 pounds, so I've lost a little weight from earlier in the pregnancy, probably from not being able to eat much with my morning sickness. My blood pressure was 111/87 heart rate was 105 and my temp was 99 but the clinic was really hot, their air conditioner wasn't working. So we think that's why I was a little hot. The baby would not hold still for the assistant midwife we kept hearing it move out of the way and slide across the doppler, all my kids seem to do this. My midwife finally took over and I told her I thought it was on the right side and so she felt around and sure enough it was more on the right side that she felt it. She finally found the heart beat down in my pelvis right in the middle. Babes heart rate was in the 160's and sounded very good. Smile So sweet hearing that sound.

I'm glad it went well. Are you using HS?

I am. Smile She seems right up my alley and I just love how down to earth and realistic she is. She believes in natural stuff but yet knows that medications are needed too.

So, I haven't been over here in quite some time obviously (life has picked up speed around here). Congratulations on a great appt and hearing LO's heartbeat! I didn't even know you had gotten pregnant, that's how far behind I am. So, Congratulations!!! I am going to have to keep up now Wink

Thanks Christa! I've been wondering how you've been! I was thinking about PM'ing you earlier today but got interrupted by a couple little boys. Beee It's been an interesting first tri that's for sure. I'm still contemplating trying the hypnobabies this time, especially since my midwife really loves it. I think I should probably decide soon. lol.

So how are you doing?

We're doing good. Busy for sure! I think my 3 year old DS is trying to drive me crazy lately, it seems like all he does is exactly what I tell him not to do. It's been so hot here that getting out of the house has been hard if not impossible and he really needs to be outside to burn some energy! DD1 will be 13 in a couple of weeks so I'm trying to figure out what to do about her birthday, she says she doesn't want a party but won't give me any other ideas about what she wants to do. Little Miss Clara is doing really good. I wish she'd sleep a little longer in the morning LOL but oh well. We got a puppy a couple months ago and the last two nights he's been up off and on all night, so he's actually being the difficult one right now Smile I don't know why I do this to myself, take on way too much at one time. I started an ICAN chapter for our area so I'm getting that off the ground. And I let my SIL talk me into co-chairing a stand at our church picnic so coordinating 70 volunteers is on the front burner right now. Oh, wow, now that it's all written out, it sort of explains the foul mood I'm in this morning Wink (or that could be because the dog has been getting sick all over my carpet this morning)

How is this pregnancy going so far? How are you keeping up with the boys and being pregnant? I'm so glad you're relationship with the midwife is going good, that's really great! I liked the hypnobabies, but I didn't get far enough in it before Clara jumped ship at 36 weeks. I'm a procrastinator and her coming early threw me for a loop. I do however think it's a great program and saw some of the benefits from what I did get to.

Wow, busy woman! I hope the ICAN group picks up and takes off for you! I think that is awesome you are doing that! We've thought about getting a dog but I think we'll wait till we are done having kids before taking on the responsibility, especially since the training will be my responsibility as DH has NO IDEA how to train dogs. Wow that seems so backwards. lol. Sorry your dog has been sick. Sad I hope things calm down for you soon and you can relax for a little bit.

The pregnancy has had it's up's and down's. It was totally planned but it came with a few bumps this time. Both my other pregnancy's were perfect, seriously no problems, but at 5 weeks with this one I got a silent UTI that quickly turned into a kidney infection and I spent 24 hours in the hospital with the hospital staff expecting me to die at any moment the first 4 hours in there. My heart rate was in the 140's and my blood pressure was in the 80's/40's. With all that was going on I really should have been unconscious rather than communicating and joking around with the nurses. Both the ER dr and my dr were surprised I hadn't lost the baby yet and I just told them I have an Iron uterus. lol. Doesn't help that I start out pregnancy's at 95 pounds and according to medical knowledge should have a hard time getting pregnant and carrying baby's to term anyway. Haha. Then a couple weeks after that ended up with the worst yeast infection ever due to the killer antibiotics they put me on to get rid of the kidney infection. My morning sickness, I still haven't actually thrown up, but I'm nauseated all day long and when I move it greatly intensifies. I like to call it motion sickness. But i'm finally having days that I can actually eat a regular meal and a snack in between. Smile The boys keep me way busy but DS1, who turns 3 Monday, seems excited. He keeps tapping my tummy and saying baby in moms tummy. So cute! I didn't think he would understand yet but he seems to know better than I thought. It's hot hear but I just let them play out in our back yard, with our trees surrounding our yard we have lots of shade, and just leave the back door open so they can come in when they need, or want. I used hypnobirthing and it worked for me it was transition that I seemed to loose focus at but I'm not even sure hypnobabies would help with transition. I'm wanting to use water and I'm really hoping that will help with transition. I guess we'll see though. lol.

Sorry about the novel. I'm long winded especially when pregnant.

I'm glad you wrote a novel. I had no idea you had gone through all that, wow, that's crazy. I hope the morning sickness continues to ease up on you. I'll definitely have to stay over here more often so I can keep up with you.

Today is cool compared to recently so we are heading to the park here shortly. He is in desperate need of a nap right now cause they decided to get up at the crack of dawn, but I'm gonna bring him out and play his little behind off so he takes a really good afternoon nap.

I'm hoping that with all the issues with this pregnancy that means I'm having a girl since my boys pregnancy's were so easy. I would be happy with another boy but I'm really hoping for a little girl this time. Right now I'm surrounded by boys and I need a little more pink in my life.

I'm glad it's cool enough for you to go to the park. I hope you have a good time and wear that little boy of yours out.

Congrats on the great appt! You made me laugh with you "twilight zone" comment, I always use that phrase to describe people who are totally weird and out there lol...

Funny enough that's what my midwife used for the position the other midwife is in. She is no longer a student but she isn't quite a midwife yet.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I have also abandoned this board for quite a while (though I hope to be back soon!), and it was nice to come here and see this update on you ladies! Smile You might not even remember me because I've been gone so long... but, I'm excited for you Kridda, and I hope you get your little girl! Smile

I'm glad the appt. went well and yay for hearing the heartbeat! That is awesome that the 2nd almost MW lives down the street from you.

Oh my, I had no idea that UTI you thought you had a while back turned out to be so serious. I'm so sorry you had to go through that and then more issues even after.
